In general the 4G TL 6MT is a solid performer (IMHO and by various mags comparos, the 6MT holds its own against the 335, G37, and S4). Please, let not this thread turn into an argument of what comparos the 4G TL 6MT should be held to. The point of this thread is regarding the 6MT EPS' steering.

What I feel that can really complete the driving experience is the steering. IMHO, I don't like it that much, very little feel. After nearly 4 years of ownership, I can't get used to it. Even though Acura claims they tuned the 6MT's steering for a "firmer on-center feel," the steering feel and weight leaves a lot to be desired. Supposedly some other cars with EPS have "good feel" (ie. BRZ, FRS), why can't Acura's have it too?

Anyone care to devise a mod that can retune the EPS steering? I would gladly pay $$ to have this mod. All I ask for is more weight, feel at all speeds (not just 60MPH+ highway) ; even some artificial elasticity is okay with me.

Anyone up for the task?

I had read that the steering feel was different between the 2009-2010 models and the 2011 and up models. If they are programmed to be different it is possible that the dealer could set/reset the steering program to change the feel.

 

Does the Honda Diagnostic System tool have the ability to modify the EPS parameters ?
