Cam replacement help needed
Cam replacement help needed
What parts and numbers are needed for a full cam replacement for 3.7 intake side and exhaust side. I have the came shaft part numbers but I'm stumbling with the number of rocker arms are needed along with the rest of the parts needed.
I went to "your wholesale Acura parts.com" and assumed your car was the 2010 TL SH-AWD with the 3.7 engine. The intake rockers (need one per cylinder) are part number14620-R72-A02. This site sells them for 305$/apiece.
The exhaust rockers are two different part numbers since you need 2 per cylinder and are not the same part number. The A exhaust rockers (need one per cylinder) are part number 14624-RKG-010. The B exhaust rockers (need one per cylinder) are 14627-RKG-010. This site sells these for 147$/apiece on this site.
Can I ask you why you are replacing both cams and all the rockers? I had my rear camshaft pit on one of the exhaust valve cam lobes. This cause a ticking which turned info knocking over ~20K miles. This pitting happens to some Honda/Acura camshafts. Most think it is a manufacturing defect in the hardening process (don't know this for sure). I had to replace the rear cam and the rocker associated with that cam lobe. If you are replacing due to pitting, I would only replace the rockers corresponding to the cam lobes that pitted. As you can see they are expensive.

Reading from the shop manual it said if the pitting happens it's best to change all exhaust rockers. And I figured since I am in there might as well change out the intake as well. But after sourcing all the parts yeah I think i should just change the rockers that are pitting. Thanks

I bought both cams at your wholesale acura parts.com (last month) and they will be installed tomorrow. I just checked now and it shows they can be ordered still unless it shows backorder after the purchase. My car has been in the shop for 2 weeks waiting on some rocker arms. I had to replace 4 exhaust and 1 intake rocker arm
