Hey everyone, I tried searching through the forums for this type of thing but I couldn't locate a single post so I hope this isn't a repost.

I purchased my first TL about 3 months ago (2012, BWP SH-AWD) with about 4,800 miles for a great price in So Cal.

I must not have noticed this when first purchasing it but the headlight bulbs have this almost rust like something on the very tips. As if it became rusted or some kind of browning.

I can't say it's affected much of anything and the lights appear plenty bright. I'm just really curious if this is consistent? I had this odd thought it was underwater or something, LOL. The car is otherwise just about perfect in looking hardly used (aside from the drivers side seat).

I've read probably 500 threads here since purchasing and am really grateful for everyone's willingness to share and provide input. This place rocks!

if its your highbeams, its normal.

if its your HID bulbs, then it is not normal.

when I replaced my DRLs (highbeams), I noticed both bulbs had a brown "stain" on the tips as well, and that was after I put 5000km on it after buying it new. sounds like it's normal.
