Bought 2014 Acura SH-AWD Tech last night
Bought my TL from Montclair Acura in NJ. Black on Black.
Have been lurking around this forum for more than a year now.
Have a 2007 BMW 328xi, the driving experience was great but can't handle the repairs anymore. Ended up spending more than $8k in repairs beyond maintenance. But RWD BMW still feels better to drive. Expensive value prop. Didin't get a good trade-in value, going to sell on my own.
Thanks to this community, you helped me make the decision.
I was told that I bought one of the last 2 cars left. I got similar feedback from 2 other dealers that the inventory is almost running out and there will be no more Production.
Thanks again for all the insights.
Should I anticipate the propeller shaft issue with 2014? Anyone has problems with 2014?

Congrats on the buy. Hope you get to experience different driving dynamics of SH-AWD. Post some pics if you get a moment. Clean black cars with tinted windows look so nice.

Congrats on the new ride, you will not be disappointed. Yes inventory is running low, probably because the TLX was supposed to be out by now but was delayed, my local dealer says what you see is what we have, no more shipments.
As far as the propeller shaft I believe that Acura made a change with the 2013 model, maybe someone who knows for sure can chime in.

Good price! I bought the same car back in November. Love it! Still only at 4500 miles.

Congrats on your new purchase.
The 2014 TL is still too new and "rare" to report problems if any.

Congrats and welcome to the 4G club. The last of the TL moniker. You made a wise choice.

Toyota Avalon, Audi A4 and A6, Accord V6, Lexus GS, CLA 250 and a bunch of used TLs.
What pushed me over the hill to get a new one was the price of certified 2011 and 2012 TLs. Specifically 2012 TLs (bought in 2011) with low miles were selling in high 20s when I can get a new one at $37.5.

I pointed out to my wife that off warranty, her oil changes are going to cost close to $100 at the dealership. that's when she started looking for a replacemnt for the X5d...

my wife traded in her 2011 X5d for this exact same reason. the car required so many repairs during the warranty period.

If you want a TL, buy it now. There is NO inventory and there hasn't been any new for a long time now. Waiting game means you are risking the chance even more of not being able to get the combination you want. Even FWD ones are scarce.

BMW reliability is shit! My Acura only cost me $6500 the last year i had it. Aug 2012-Aug 2013. It was an 04 TL. I used to go to Montclair Acura all the time for service. I would buy an Oil Coupon book, or w/e where you prepay for like 5 oil changes but you pay less. montclair acura is meh and they really went downhill in the last 3 years, stopped offering snacks, good drinks, etc. stopped giving loaners for oil changes (with appointment and everything). im not sure if there is a better dealer nearby though. also, they overcharge the shit out of everything.
