Bodykit - has anyone done....

..... Just the front factory lip and side skirts? I do not like the look of the rear lip or any of the aftermarket rear lips.

I would really love to see a picture of a TL with just those 2 installed. Anyone have one??

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned mine is a 2010 black tech edition.

It looks good on the 2012 without the rear lip. I wonder if we have a pic for the 2009-2010 model. I'm sure it will be close....

I have a '10 in MBM, and had only the front and side skirts on for about a week without the rear underbody piece since the box with the rear pieces was lost in shipment. I installed the front and sides and left the rear mudflap thingys on until I got the rear pieces installed. It actually looked pretty decent that way, and I got some compliments from folks who didn't know better, but to me it definitely looked incomplete. I think I snapped a few photos and will try upload them as soon as I figure out how (have never tried to post photos).

The rear pieces came in this weekend and went on today. I personally think it looks much better with the whole kit, though I would agree that the rear piece doesn't add much as I thought the stock rear always looked good.

I will try to get a photo posted in the morning.

I'm an idiot. I have an '11 TL not a '10.

Per my previous post, I'm attempting to post photos via Photobucket below...

JDWheelz,

Thank you for the pics. That is exactly what I wanted to see. Your car looks great and you helped me seal the deal on the front lip and side skirts. I do not like the shape of the rear lip and my opinion is the car actually looks cleaner without it.

Btw: what can you tell me about the takeda and J-pipe combo? Do you like it? Big difference? Exhaust Noise change at all?

Takeda short-ram has been on a few months. Car sounds stock up until you hit the powerband about 3.8k RPM under heavy throttle, then you get a nice mean intake growl that becomes a roar by the time you redline. Honestly, I feel like it has robbed me of quite a bit of low-end pull. The car is slow to get to 4k (I have Auto tranny), and I find myself using the paddles most if the time which is more fun anyway. It does feel stronger in the high RPM (but perhaps just louder). Overall, not totally sold on it given I spend most of my time in traffic, but the sound is nice and only when you want it to be.

As far as the J-pipe, for me the jury is still out. Just installed over the weekend and haven't had opportunity to really drive much with it yet. I don't detect any noticeable sound change. Perhaps replaces some of the lower-end torque that disappeared with the Takeda. Just from brief seat of the pants feel. Left stock third cat in place...for now.

There are a ton of opinions on AZ if you search either of these mods.

$1400 with labor included isn't horrible. My dealer in NoVa wanted to charge me a total of $1800+ to order parts through them and prepay labor. Instead i ordered kit online from Curry's Acura in NY for about $940 incl shipping, installed the side skirts myself which was easy, then got Acura to install front and back for about $340, which was worth it to me since I didn't have time or help to remove bumpers, cut, etc.

^^^^^

Yes, because without that rubber padding, there will be uneven gaps between the kit and the body.
