Black or White TL 6MT

Hey guys! New to the forum and the Acura community at a whole. Anyways for the past few months i have been doing my research and scouting around the forums. Seen some really nice cars and amazing mods. With the help of the forum it looks like I'm going to be jumping into a CPO 4G TL, 6MT. The only question left after is exterior color. Now i know that color is a preference, but i just wanted to get a poll to see where we stand between black vs white.

Thanks for the help, and hopefully this will make my decision making a lot easier come time to sign those papers.

Imran

In 6MT form, CPO cars in black will be more available than those in white... I personally would prefer the white as it's easier to maintain...

my black 3G looked great clean

but even sitting in the garage it would pick up dust

that color just takes so much effort to keep clean

w/ my current color I don't miss my old car's constant work to keep looking clean

nothing looks better than black when its clean, waxed, polished. in the sun it really shines. but a little bit of dust....you will see it on the black TL.

white wont shine as much as black, but looks clean even with a little bit of dust on it. i like both colors, i had the same decision to make before i got my wdp TL.

if its going to be a daily driver - white, if not a daily driver- either color will be nice. post pics when you buy it.

I had I black car before my white TL and hated the black. Even after driving out of the car wash the black would pick up dust and looked like I hardly washed it. With white it's less maintenance and the car looks clean most of the time. I would defenately get the white.

both are nice colors but keep in mind you can only get black interior; so black on black would be too much black for me. white on black is a nicer contrast. now if you could get it in black/umber that would be the ideal combo imo

Thanks guys.

I do notice a lot of these details on my current car (06 Maxima). Black is indeed a hard color to maintain and this will be a daily driver. Enough though black looks great clean, I just can't stand the swirl marks that come with it.

Do you guys notice harsh swirl marks on Acura paint.

Down fall is I don't see any CPO white 4G TL in anyone's lot. Might have to wait.

Thanks guys and keep the polls coming

I think black looks great if you keep it clean and polished. But, every black 4g I've seen the paint looks dirty and swirled.

With that said I would go with white. It looks really good with all the chrome trim and requires less maintenance.

I would say it all depends on how often you mind washing it. I went with black...no choice IMO. I wash it every week and love the way it looks!

White.

I loved my TL in black, but it was a nightmare to keep clean. The RL in white was just a simply rinse.

Coming from a guy that owns a black car, I vote white. Much easier to keep clean but nothing shines like a clean black car. Even if it only lasts for half a day

With my experience with Honda paint, it is very soft.

Izabar, welcome to Acurazine.

Color is a very personal preference. You'll get as many different answers as you want here. If you don't want to see swirls, consider silver. It's one of the most forgiving colors available.

I once had a black Acura CL. Just beautiful when it was clean. It stayed clean for about a day. It showed every dead bug and bird dropping. It required too much care to make it look nice. My next car was not an Acura, but was pearl white. Looked great and looked great until the next rain. When I got my 2011 TL in October of 2010 the dealer only had three '11's in stock one black and two Grigio's, one with taupe interior, one with a black interior. I got the Grigio with taupe. I ran as fast as I could from the black TL. The Grigio does not stay looking clean as long as the white car did.

Thanks for making this a lot more clear with answers backed by evidence and experience.

Well with this it looks like i will just have to wait around until a CPO 2009+ 4G White 6MT comes alone.

Please keep your eyes open for one, and PM me any details if you can.

Thanks again

I would agree with Steven as I've got a silver TL as well... Good luck
