Best color for TL..Exterior and Interior

I know its extremely personal, but wondering what others think the best color for the TL is?

Also, what about interior?

I was always thinking of getting a Crytal Black Pearl, with Black Interior. But now i have grown to love the TL lines in Bellanova White Pearl, and keep falling more in love with the Umber interior (although some have said it looks too orange to them)

Just very curious. Thank you.

Black is difficult to keep clean and the black interior is very hot in the summer.

Other than that, your question is to subjective.

BLACK ON BLACK is always best.. but BWP on black looks good too.. or red on black..

but its all personal preference.. black is hard to take care of as white takes little to no effort..

I guess if you speak to the lines of the car for best color. I always think every car seems to have a color that suits its best.

My thought is based on the lines, the black cut outs in front grille, and chrome accents, the Bellanova seems to look best on the TL. Just wondering what others thought, forgoing any decision based on easy to maintain. Thanks again!

This is sooooooo very subjective. I've always had black on black vehicles and will never stray; however, they're hot and difficult to keep clean. Second choice would be a white vehicle, especially the TL. The lines look insane.

This was more what i was looking for. Factor out hot seats in summer, or always dirty and difficult to maintain.

What color do you think makes the TL look its best? Thanks!

The white for the 2012 is a Bellanova White Pearl, - a little too brite for me.
The 2009-2011 white is a White Diamond Pearl, more pearl color - that's the white I prefer.
Black looks best clean.

Yeah - you may just want to look at both colors and compare, if you like white.
The new BWP is sharp.

White with black interior is always nice, for both modded and unmodded cars.

Black is not a color... It's a job.

You are asking for the best color? But you like and are referring to two different colorless "colors"

Get something with actual pigment and color that is classy!

Depends on the exterior color. I have WDP with umber and I think it looks better than black on the WDP.

Color is a personal preference thing. For me 4G looks best as CBP/Ebony, BWP/Umber, BRP/Ebony ordered in my preference.

I think it would have really looked good in NBP with its blue pigments, but AFAIK 4G was never offered in that color.

Hmm, I heard the II is for 2012+ due to a slight paint change from previous versions and so since it's not an exact match they had to give it a different II designator to avoid confusion, but that's all I know about it.

Care to edumacate me?

Japan didn't have enough pigments to make the original BRP, so they had to change it, II is slightly red-er whereas the original is darker/more maroone

Ah I get it, thanks! Normally I like my reds deeper/darker, but I have to admit the BRPII doesn't look too reddish for me. Having not seen the BRPI I have no basis of comparison.

BTW - I stumbled upon one of your DIY threads, very impressive what you've done! Love the CV2 rims but having just dropped the cash on my car, not sure I can spend another 3 grand on wheels/tires. But kudos for the work you've done on your TL!

For me personally, CBP hands down. I think the TL is amazingly stealth in black.

If you think the Umber is too "orange" looking, I'd suggest tinting the windows. I was surprised to see a Black TL with tinted windows making the Umber interior look darker and therefore, more like a "saddle" brown.

Why hasn't anyone said Mayan Bronze yet? That's a striking color when clean!

Bellanova white pearl. But had Acura offered the electric blue from 2G or 3G TL, I may have to choose those colors.

10-4 to that... I was lucky, found a Mayan/Umber 2012 TL Sh-AWD Advance when they were very hard to find... Not sure they are still making the color or not at this point...

For practicality in terms of upkeep, I have always liked white cars and have owned a few. However like another poster pointed how a particular color looks depends also on the styling of the car. When we bought my wife's first TL in 2000, we went for the Monterey Blue Pearl which looked great with the styling (along with the parchment interior) but was a b**ch to keep looking clean.

I swore I would never buy another dark color until when we started shopping around for a 2012. While driving on the freeway we spotted a Mayan Bronze TL and we were instantly sold. We particularly liked the rareness of the color and it was quite a chore to find one.

The Graphite is also a rich looking color but there were just so many cars with similar color. The Basque Red was also in the running but it did not have the character of the red that is used on the Lexus ES350 (in fact the color choices for Lexus were much more interesting than for the TL).

What makes the choice even more difficult really is the lack of colors available on the TL.

Mayan Bronze/Umber was an awesome color-I had a 2010 SH AWD and also tried to snag a 2012 last September-but the car earmarked for the dealer was never built. I traded the car in April for a CBP/Umber and I think this combo is rare enough to make my car still feel rather unique. While black is harder to keep clean I think it is the best looking color for the 2012 TL. And with the deals, and loyalty cash I took advantage of-payed a lower net price than I was offered last September-so it turned out better for me in many ways.

I am a HUGE fan of white vehicles....Mine is BWP with black interior although I know in Canada you can order it with umber interior. I know a lot of people like umber but for me, it just does do anything. As you said, its very subjective so the decision will be yours but as others have said, black is nice but a lot of effort to keep pristine. If you don't mind the elbow grease, you will find that black is amazing but if you don't enjoy spending lots of time shining/waxing your wheels, you will find that your love for black cars fading very quickly...almost as fast as the paint *lol*

4 days ago was able to find and buy a very unique combination/spec

2011 Acura TL SH-AWD Tech, 6MT, 8K miles, Mayan Bronze/Umber. Tinted windows today...

Car looks so "rich" and beautiful with all chrome details and lines !!!

All other my cars were silver or white, first time dark color

it comes down to how much time and effort youre willing to put into detailing the car. A 40+k car deserved to be pampered and taken care of really well. Its never to late to jump into detailing and learning the importance of the upkeep of paint. Ive always wanted a white car and i finally got my 09 WDP with Umber. I love black cars and black on black wouldve been my 2nd option as i absolutely love detailing cars especially black cars... But its a pain in the A$$ when you spend hours detailing it and you go for a drive and its all dusty..... the WDP for me because of the pearl is perfect because it gives it a rich look when im done with clay bar and my different wax steps...... Like i told you it comes down to the time and effort youre willing to put in, if its all too much for you and you dont really see yourself washing it as often go for silver. Hope this helps!

I have a Black on Black 2012 TL SH-AWD Advanced. I personally looked at all the color combinations that were available and specifically choose that combo because it looks the best. Everyone tells me how sharp my car is. The TL deserves that dark color!

Don't worry about the heat in the summer. Between the cooled seats and the A/C, it takes about 60 seconds to get comfortable. Heat isn't an issue at all.

Water spots tend to show a little more on the black, but it really doesn't look dirtier. A dirty car is what looks dirty regardless of the color. Besides the TL is extremely easy to wash. Takes me only about 10 minutes.
