Battery messages 2012 TL

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew how to clear battery messages from the mid.

I just replaced my battery so it's brand new. They said my alternator looks bad at 70mv of ripple, but I had it replaced just a few months ago.

I just want to reset the message to see if it comes back of anyone can help.

When turning on the car I get switch off all lights and electroice devices.

When I turn the car off I get beeping and it says battery charge low see owners manual.

Thanks

That's odd. I've had the nav screen tell me that my battery need to be replaced but not the same messages you're getting. So you get a message to turn off all lights and electronic devices when you start the car?

Throw a multimeter on the battery and see what it reads.

Could be a bad new one, not unheard of.

Yeah I was getting that...after a brand new battery. The valet left something on the night before, sorry I forgot to put that in my original post, so I went to get a battery. Before the new battery I was getting those messages. For about half a day after the new battery I was getting the same messages, but it went away later in the day. I think the battery management system figured it was fine again after the new battery.

The messages went away after driving throughout the day a few on off cycles also. I think the battery system might just take a while to reset? In any case all seems well now. Thanks.

Good to hear. If something like that happens again it might be a good idea to reset the ECU (pull the negative cable off the battery for about 5 minutes then put it back). Typically that's only good for resetting the ECU if you don't have an OBD2 reader, but it might reset the battery minder issue too.

Check out TSB 12-013 - MID Shows BATTERY CHARGE LOW in the 2012 TSB thread and see if your VIN applies.

To reset the Battery Management System (BMS), disconnect and reconnect the battery sensor 2P connector.
