Back on Acurazine. Got the 09 TL SH-AWD...Loving it.

Hello,

Just purchased an 09 TL-SH AWD w/ Tech Package. It is Crystal Black with Umber interior. The car has 93,246 miles. Loving the car so far coming from an 06 TL. Sorry for the crappy pics, Let me know what you think. Glad to be back on Acurazine! Thanks for looking.

One thing I wanted to point out were the dirty Quad exhaust tips. I've read several posts on how to clean them and went with Nevr Dull. They did not seem to work that well on the tips. I am not sure if the tips are just completely worn out and burnt, I just really can't tell, but I was not able to remove anything with nevr dull. Any suggestion's would be great. I've heard people say bar keepers friend but if nevr dull didn't work I do not see how BKF would. Thanks!

Congrats on the new ride, but your photos are not working. On the quad tips, I used BKF and didn't have any trouble at all with it. I have a thread on it somewhere here, also.

If you can't find any cleaning products that will clean the tips go buy some automotive sandpaper and hand polish them, start with a lower grit (around 300ish) and move up to high grit paper and that will polish them up nice. You'll initially lose some shine with the low grit but as you move to a higher grit it will come back.

Thanks man! Yea i got lucky with this color combo, haven't seen many with the Umber.

nice to know my pics are working!

I will upload more pics soon. Especially after getting tint done this weekend and some new tires. Planning on getting the Bridgestone Potenzas RE970AS Pole Position. Any other suggestion's/mods would be appreciated. My main thing is to get the quad tips cleaned up first.

Also couple things I noticed so far, small issues that is are the XM antenna is horrendous. Texas has quite a bit of trees but even then I feel like the signal is ALWAYS going in and out. I read some posts on this and have heard some gripes that the 09 had a bad antenna. But if anyone knows of an easy fix that would be nice. Also, the car has been serviced and maintained really well with the fluids/flushes. However, I did seem to notice that unusual gear shift from 1-2 that I read up on and found out it may be the torque converter software. How can I see which version I have on there or would the dealership know? at 93k miles, whatever the best resolution you guys recommend would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome back and congrats. You can try and call Acura Care for the torque converter. Also, might be a good idea to give it a tune up since you're almost at 100K miles. Not sure about the antenna though.

Ok thanks I will find out if the torque converter software was done. Any idea what that normally runs. Also what does a tune up normally run also?
