Back to Acurazine with 4G TL. Great to be back with Acura and Acura community.

Three years ago I traded my beloved 2007 TL base with 170K on it for a brand new 2015 Subaru WRX.

While WRX is a truly unique car, and it was an amazing experience to drive it, by trading the amazing 3G TL in, I felt a loss of a sporty luxury and of an all around well made yet affordable car. 3G TL was one of the best values that car can ever offer.

I also missed professional community of Acura owners.

Well, today I got a pre-owned certified 2013 Acura TL with tech. package and with 33K miles. While it is not as sporty as WRX or even 3G TL, it is still an amazing car and a value for the money. I mean this car is like a private jet - luxury, equipment, comfort, ride and still a pretty good performance and handling. Base 3.5 V6 has abundant power and torque. It works effortlessly and the cabin remains quiet (WRX was way too choppy, noisy and jittery (throttle)).

I cannot believe how well made and equipped are these cars. I was even considering Infinity G37x, but the modern style, equipment, gas mileage and just the sheer value of the 2013 TL and the tech package prevailed. Stereo is insane. Interior feels like million bucks.

Driving it I feel like I am back home. All the same stuff like on 3G TL but more, better, upgraded.
Hopefully my experience with it and with this forum will continue to be great.
(Here, at this forum is where I learned from other posts and from your answers how to do 70-80% of the pretty involved maintenance and repairs, and how to save literally thousands of dollars by DIY)

Welcome back!

I too hava a 2013 FWD with Tech. Just got the airbag recall done after 4 months. I picked it up from the dealership and thought wow, the styling is still very fresh and modern looking.

Had a blast driving home tonight.

The 4G TL can be just as sporty if not sportier than the 3G if done right. And I'm glad you didn't get the "Infinity". They don't make cars, Infiniti however... lol

4G is a great car, feels like a million bucks and when maintained is a looker on the roads. Even though I still glance at a nice 3G on the road, it can't compare to the overall amenities and ride that the 4G has especially with the 2012 changes. Something as simple as not having to hold your phone and press bluetooth once the call is placed. Remember doing that in the 3G? That annoying doo doop sound when connected or disconnecting bluetooth is gone!!!!

I hear you. I came from a STi which I loved but in a different way. It is very exhilarating to drive the Subarus byte the 4G is an excellent ride that I am enjoying too. I had to change cars due to some feet problems that made having a manual no,longer feasible. The TL was a great choice for me.

Welcome back. I had a couple 3G's including a Type-S prior to my 4G manual AWD. For its time, the 3G Type-S was one of the best looking cars on the road. IMO though, it looks a little dated right now.
Outside of exterior looks, which are subjective, the 4G is better in every way. It's faster, handles better, better interior, better tech. Exterior wise its more modern and "adult-ish" looking. Not RL level adult-ish, but more so than the 3G TL.

Welcome back! I've always thought that these cars fly so far under the radar, it's ridiculous. Enjoy your TL!
