AWD that much better than FWD

Whats the biggest difference between the two? In your opinion is the AWD alot better than the FWD.

My buddy has an AWD, '09 TL w/Tech Package, I have the FWD, '09 w/tech Package and my buddy says mine is actually a better vehicle, handles better and alot faster.

Thoughts?

Test the FWD and RWD and AWD on ice, water, mud, snow or any adverse surface. Use same type cars if you can.
Your better performance will be AWD followed by FWD and then RWD.
On dry pavement ... some rather be pulled - some rather be pushed.
When push comes to pull ... AWD will be best and generally more expensive.

Of course the AWD is better for some reasons and the FWD for other reasons. For me the AWD is what I wanted and was prepared to pay for.

The real give away is that a guy who says he has one and his buddy has the other asks us what we think. Seems to me like the OP should know better than we do which is better because I only have an AWD and I don't have a buddy who has FWD.
