Anyone like the looks of the ZDX compared to the 4G TL?
Has anyone seen the this car. I really like the lines on the car. The interior looks nice as well. How does everyone like it compared to our cars? I know it's a totally different beast, but it's got a lot of carry offer as all Acuras do. Just wanted to get some thoughts on the car compared to our 4G TL's. Thanks guys/gals.

Right now, all we have is a concept. A lot can change before production. I really like the overall look though......grill looks much better than on the TL....the rear also looks cool. The concept looks like it has some kind of LED running lights in the front bumper which I hope makes it to production. The interior also looks very nice and better executed than on the TL...much cleaner and more elegant. The inclusion of a 6-sp auto is welcome news. It looks like another winner for Acura, but I hope they keep the weight and price down to keep it competitive. I can't wait to test-drive it when it comes out.....need an excuse to get rid of my wife's minivan.

Althought it's only a concept, I must say I'm quite impressed by the looks.
I'm eager to see te specs for that car as well as price and weight.
There's definitly potential here for something very cool!

I feel strongly both ways
I saw it at the NY Auto Show. Although I don't like SUV's/CUV's or whatever they're currently being called, I have to say that this was very attractive.
I saw pictures of the dash and it's a direct copy from the TL/Tech.

Speaking of crossovers, I just read about the new Toyota Venza in the latest issue of Motor Trend. What's shocked me is that despite the Venza having 30+ fewer hp and 30+ fewer lbs/ft. torque than the TL SH-AWD, it accelerates from 0-60 in 6.5 sec...about the same as the TL SH-AWD! The Venza also weighs very similar to the TL SH-AWD....around 3900+ lbs. The only difference being the Venza has a 6-sp. auto. The Venza also gets 19-20 MPG in the city. Say what you will about Toyota, but they sure know how to squeeze performance and efficiency out of their engines and drivetrains like no one else in the business. The ZDX got its work cut out even before it hits the streets.

I like the lines on the ZDX and whis the TL woudl have had much of this look, remove the sloped back and make it more sedan shaped and the front and back to me are way more appealing than my 4G TL

From what I understand, the ZDX will have RL type features. Including Collision Mitigation Braking System. I work at a Local Acura Dealer and we will be getting a first hand look and drive of the car very very soon. An impressive peace of machinery to be honest with you all. We expect it to come in pricing wise between MDX and TL pricing. Maybe closer to the MDX because of the more advanced features that will be added that neither the MDX or the TL possess. Should be interesting.

I thought they were going to it price above the mdx

So, if the pricing is between the MDX and the RL, it probably will be in the upper 40K range? Now, considering that is around the same price as a loaded Q5, what would you get - ZDX or Q5???

In my opinion, pricing the ZDX near $50K is a mistake by Acura in my opinion, esp. given the economic situation we're in. Granted the looks of the ZDX is very cool, however the content is nothing spectacular and it's already available in other brands. Something tells me though that soon after its release, it will most likely sell for way below MSRP just like the 4G TL has.

Based on latest Edmunds tests Q5 is faster than Acura RL/TL on 19inch wheels and 4400lbs tow capacity. That despite having only 3.2L engine and weight and height approaching MDX. In other markets. Q5 has adjustable air suspension, hill decent control with class leading ground clearance.
ZDX very inefficient design for 192 inch vehicle with wheel base likely shorter than 182 inch Q5 and with small cargo/interior space.
US news have ranked Q5 No 1 in luxury compact SUV. (Acutally It isnt compact in passenger space as it is only 3cubic feet short of Q7)

Interesting features include heated and cooled cupholders, keyless entry and engine start, adaptive cruise control and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo with an iPod jack

C&D test 2.0T A4 quattor edges out 3.7TL in 0-130mph timing despite having 100 fewer horses. Whole point is Acura cars are aerodynamically obselete for higher speeds. I dont expect anythng better from ZDX
ZDX is not fully a SUV as it sits too low. why would some one buy ZDX instead to TL-SH-AWD with slow performance and poor fuel economy. If Acura attempt to price ZDX anywhere close to $50k it will be failure unless they give big discounts.

I'm sure they are aware of that. However, the die was cast (literally) before the current economic situation. As we learned elsewhere, once tool and die makers get the go ahead to start, they get paid whether Acura builds the car or not.
