BMW loves to make buying their cars difficult. A 2007 built before march of 07 has different features and options than one built after march of 2007.

Does Acura have anything like this? If I buy a 2012 FWD with Tech, are any of them any different from another?

Sounds like a silly question until your car has a different tranny and lacks a usb in the armrest due to its manufacturer date

 

BMW changes things on a month-to-month production basis, nothing of the sort with acura. Acura does "yearly" updates if required and does a "facelift" every 3-4 years of a model selling like BMW.

For example the 2009-2011 TL should be very close and the 2012-2014 should be close. There are differences between the two such as exterior bodywork, the A-spec kit, chrome interior door handles vs painted, etc.

I haven't done a comprehensive list but anything over a 2012 model will have the latest and greatest.
