This may have already been stated (sorry I didn't read every single post of this thread), but it seems like the OP had his mind set on the BMW and came to an Acura TL forum to be convinced otherwise. Just my

The gear shifter had the black circle accordian things around it. Car didn't have floormat or center console.
These days, you have to pay more for optional manual trans. At least, some are still left.

Return it and get a 3 Series then...I would never settle myself for something I do not really like. You need to be happy with your purchase.
Luckily there are a gazillion of used 3 Series to pick from...it's almost as common as a Civic sedan....with a look to match I would add but that's me.

You settled for the TL, so I wouldn't keep it. There's tones of 3 series out there and just wait a little time. You'll eventually either find the right one, end up with the new F30's or end up with an E90 or E92 M3 lol. They're reasonably priced now a days.
I settled for my TL and always look back regretting what I got, but I also look back and still can't decide what I originally wanted so my "settling" is a lot easier to live with lol.

ROFL - OP, you know that song? You don't know what you've got, 'til its gone....
Return the TL, get a 3 series. You only live once. I think you're nuts to buy a used BMW, but hey, its your $$$

I loved the tl... But I returned it since I felt so unsure. I can always find a tl like this so I wanted to spend some time looking for the right 335xdrive.
It's possible I might just end up buying a tl shawd again. This was all just bad timing. I should of bought the 335 and if I didn't like it just sold it.

Congrats on returning the TL.
Good luck on the 335 search. Beautiful manual trans 335 4 door, in red with sport package for sale locally.

The 2011 335 msport xdrive is harder to come by. Especially at a great price and like new as this was.

If you are open to a manual transmission option and still evaluation a TL you should do yourself a favor and try to locate a manual SH-AWD and at least test drive it....you could be hooked....

I'm scared of what's to come when my TL days come to an end... will be tough to find a replacement with manual tranny.

Good luck finding a manual... I had been looking for a couple months and either they are trashed or the owners want an absorbent premium for them that belies there market value.
I ended up with an Automagic instead.

but ya, 3-4 years from now manual transmission on a big car with 300+ HP will be hard to find... add in AWD... pretty much nothing to choose from.

Bringing this thread back!
So guys, after returning the 2013 TL SHAWD I had for about 5 days (reluctalty i might add because it was a great car, and still would consider buying one, even over a TLX.. more on that soon)
I found another 2011 335 xdrive, with only 9K miles, offered certified pre owned from a BMW dealership where it was bought new, and traded back in at- car is like new. I drove 5 hours witha rental to get it.
Brought new to me 2011 335 home..what a mixed experience..
Initially was shocked in a bad way, felt so harsh/hard/small inside, the layout and the tech wasnt as friendly as I was use to in the Acura (we have a MDX) but got use to it now and its fun to own
My cousin went and bought a new TLX.. We met and we swapped cars and followed eachother around on a long test drive- wow the things i noticed-
The TLX steering wheel felt like a skinny noodle.. horrible.. The 2013 TL SH had a nice beefy steering wheel- The steering felt SUPER light, even in sport plus mode- i dont remember if the 2013 TL steering felt THAT light, i dont think it did- but i loved the TL steering better
Overall as I followed him around some curvy back roads and he was moving in my 335 the TLX felt OK, it just felt like its meant more to be a comfy cruiser- didnt give me a sport feeling at all- The TL SHAWD I had felt more sporty, stiffer suspension-
If this 335 ever gets tempermental and I stop enjoying it, I would definitely go and find a almost new 2014 TL SHAWD- I think they are a great compromise over sport, luxury, and bad weather driving- and Tech- Awesome car guys for those that have them.
The 335 has been fun, I hate the cup holders though, and the door unliock button being on the middle of the dash center console is purely retarded.
Its was only 29200. I found a rare one and jumped all over it.
Just had a chance to jump on and share- I think its says alot i still hold the 2013 TL SHAWD in high regard, and I think its even a better, all around sport sedan for daily driving over the 335 I now have-

lol, I was also close to buying a 335 but the local dealership really inflates their prices and they weren't willing to move at all on the CPO I drove a few times. I did try a M235i later on and compared it to the F30 335i...the M235i I almost regret not buying but with a family of 4 I'd want a M235i GC that sadly doesn't exist.
Having owned my 14 for a year now, I'll say it definitely needs decent tires to get the most from it, though the shawd is almost good enough to rotate you through anything even with the garbage oem michelins. Obviously the MT is the one to get for performance, but I think for rest of us with the 6ATs, I think a DCT would've paired very well with the engine.

My 2 sense, my good friend owns 2 BMW's, a 3 series and an M3, bought the same time as I bought my first TL (2004), he spent more in 2 years on ONE of them for preventative and corrective maintenance, then I PAID for my TL ($20K)....and after almost 300,000 miles, I only paid $180 dollars for a backup 02 sensor!
