Air Filter / Element Assy Air Cleaner
Can someone validate the OEM Model Number I looked it up and found
Part Number: 17220-R70-A00
But Amazon says it does not fit my car
I would also like to ask if people would recommend the Honda OEM over a fram or Wix

I have the B12 service due now, and will be working on it over this weekend. I went ahead and bought the FRAM from amazon for 15 bucks. It is not the paper filter, but is made out of synthetic fiber, pretty similar to the OEM. I know for sure that the OEM Honda/Acura Oil Filter is made by Honeywell (Parent company of FRAM), so I am assuming that the OEM Air Filter will be a re-badged FRAM as well. With a higher "dealer" price, of course.
I was initially thinking of going to K&N, but after researching it around, couldnt convince myself spending 40 bucks for a filter that will require maintenance of its own. Some might say that it will improve performance and the fuel economy. I think I am alright with the power and economy that I got with the regular air filter. Beside, I am just too lazy to clean and then apply the coating on that. haha.
Here is the link to the Fram.

I read that the OEM was better than the Fram. The shape of the OEM on Amazon looks more rectangle and the Fram looks more square. Amazon does say that the Fram will fit my car and it says that the OEM 17220-R70-A00 will not despite every other website telling me that is the correct part number (my concern is that acura and honda uses the same part number for different filters or this is listed incorrectly on Amazon).
I went ahead and ordered the Fram since it had a 2$ coupon and I could get another 15% of by adding it to my upcoming bringing my cost to 10$.
How much better could the OEM be?
Thanks for the heads up
so with ordering both Fram air and cabin filter clipping the coupons and doing a subscribe and save got them both for under $22 ttl as opposed to the $150 extra the dealer charges for the 2 service.

I stand corrected. Just did the 30K service on my TL and replaced the Cabin air filter and the Engine air filter. The Engine air filter is not made by FRAM as I initially said (and suspected). The Engine air filter is made by Filtech Inc. (Not really sure who they are). The difference between the FRAM and the OEM is the number of pleats. The FRAM has 30 folds/pleats, and the OEM one has 36. The material seem to be similar to the naked eye. But for some reason, the OEM one felt a bit heavier to me. Perhaps the dirt and the oiling that was done up on initial installation.
