After 6 years, I'm finally coming back!!!
Six years ago I traded my beloved 02 Agean Blue TL-S for an Oddy van that I needed for my business. I figured I would be back in an Acura in a year or two. Well things didn't work out that way. Another Oddy van, 8 SUVs, and another kid later and still I didn't have my Acura back. After we purchased our second Suburban in November, my wife and I decided that we would only need 1 Suburban and could trade the other one in on what I so desperately wanted, an AWD sedan. So since November, I have been shopping. Looked at various cars but I always get drawn back to Acura. Benz, BMW, and Lexus are nice but I own a business in a small town. I'm only 38 and to drive one of those makes just screams, "I'm making money!" That's not something I want to advertise. Besides, the Acura just felt right. Like an old friend. So last Friday I went back to the dealer and saleswoman where I had purchased my '01 CL-S in March of 2000 (one of the first off the truck) and decided on a '13 black on black TL SH-AWD Advance with the body kit. The kit is coming this week and I should be able to pick up the car on Thursday morning. I'm so excited to finally get my Acura back. Hopefully this will be a long relationship. Not with the TL, because I usually trade up after 2 or 3 years, but with Acura. Everyone can say what they want, but for me Acura still offers the best balance of performance, tech, value and reliability. The TL is awesome and I can't wait to take it on some of my favorite twisties at home. (The nearest Acura dealer is almost 2 hours away) So rejoice for me Acurazine, I am finally getting my Acura back!!!...........now where is that Comptech Supercharger?

TypeS-RPh...Congrats! You made a wise decision and came to the same conclusion that many of us did when deciding on which car to buy. You will be quite happy with your TL and even more so with the SH-AWD, what a pleasure to drive!! I too went the "bodykit" route and really feel it makes the car sexier....I skipped the rear skirt because on the lighter colored vehicle, it didn't flow as nice as the previous kit (pre-MMC) but on a darker colored car, it will look really good. Can't wait to see the pics and the comments after you have it...

Congrats man, welcome back. I have a 2012 black on black advance with the bodykit and the roof spoiler and I fall in love every time she's washed up and clean. Black is a tough color but with some TLC we can keep black cars looking clean.

Congrats and welcome back both to Acura and the forum. Your reasons for doing so are the same reasons I keep leasing TL's - reliability, value, performance and tech. It's a combination that no other manufacturer can beat.

Congrats OP! And great choice on the color
I'm right there with you man. I try to wash mine every week but occasionally I'll skip one. I just claybar'd and waxed this weekend and I couldn't stop looking at her

Thanks for the kind words guys! Yeah I'm pretty excited. Believe it or not, black on black was my first choice. It's a pain to keep clean but oh so nice when its clean! My CL-S was black on black.

I finally picked her up on Thursday. All I can say is wow. Taking a few test drives doesn't do this car justice in just how capable it is. Getting it home and taking it on roads I know showed me just how awsome it is. Yeah there are a few shortcomings and its not the newest car out there, but for just over 40k it is a lot of car for the money. Tech is pretty cool and the ELS sound system sounds amazing. I know these are all things that have been covered in this forum a million times but its all new to me. I am having a bit of remorse over buying it. This is gonna sound strange but I'm having a hard time getting used to being in a car after 6 years of big SUVs. It feels like I'm sitting on the ground. The car feels soooo low? I felt like I was looking up at the rear end of a Jetta yesterday. Oh well something to get used to. No pics yet. Forgot a camera when I picked it up and just got a couple of shots with my Blackberry and its been pretty crappy weather wise in PA the last several days. When it gets nice, I will shine her up and get some pics.

Drive easy for a couple more week so as to allow the new tires to wear in. Then you can start attacking corners and curves with some frightening speeds, that big SUV's can only dream of.
