All grills are ugly and/or odd. And then people tend to anthropomorphise. See beaks, aliens, and smiles on inanimate objects.

If I got to vote, hands down, I would pick the Mazda. I hate the Jack-o-lanten look. While the Acura grille is odd, I don't think it is as awful as the Mazda grin.

While the beak is pretty fugly, I have to say that there are a lot of new cars coming out today that are pretty damn fugly so Acura's not the only one!

I am seeing more and more TL's. The front end makes them look menacing in the rear view mirror and when they pass the trunk design looks like a grin. I like it. It's a subtle, funny effect to me. BTW, I like the buttons too. It dawned on me that they're a great safety feature. Once one is accustomed to them, you never have to look away from the road to change a station or adjust temp. At worse a flick of the eyes. And I really like that I don't have to have a nav screen on all of the time because of the split display or go through a nav screen to do simple tasks.

Everyone finds something wrong with someone's grill. Acura has the captain America shield grill, BMW has the kidney bean grill, Audi has the bass fish grill, and so on and so on and everyone find at least one uglier over the other.

Its personal preference!

That MKZ grill is HUGE! That's what made me wonder after seeing the 4G come out then all these other grilles and folks just saw it as a reason trash Acura...just rambling thoughts. And the F-150 is a huge seller around my area.

I dont get it, I thought it was different but good, liked the whole TL thing. I like a car that is different from all the gum drop cars out there. I guess they thought the Chevy Cobalt was good looking? How about the Toyota Yarus, LOL. I must be wierd but I really do like the TL look. I seems that cars that are main stream looks sell better and that is the name of the game. Until you get to the $150k range and all of a sudden the mags like the distinctiveness (is that a word) of different looks.

I wasn't impressed with the beak at first, but it looked better and better as I was seeing it again and again. ... and finally I bought the 2010 TL SH-AWD. There isn't many of these cars around, so you're not just driving another Camry or Accord.

Ya I vault I would never buy this car because of the grill. But once I drove it I was sold and this is the first Honda/Acura vehicle I have owned!!!

I ignore crap like that because its all subjective. The writer obviously stated his own opinions on what he likes and doesnt like. Can anyone honestly look me in the face and tell me they would prefer that ugly Ford grill or the smiling mazda grill over that of Acura's!?!?

First who cares what the sheep that Cars .com think. I don't think it is the ugliest grill by far. I bought it for its performance and dependability but I think the car looks good. Love how most cares look the same now and people are bashing their preferences and purchases on car features that matter little. There are a lot of cars out there that neither perform and/or are not undependable....but hell people think they look good.

As the saying goes "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" i think it is a unique looking car and that is why i like it.

same here. I'm sure that Mazdas are attractive to younger drivers, but the front ends of most of their offerings is a huge turn off.

@ cars.com - I always find it amusing that critics who have never drawn or design anything are always quick to jump on 'that car is ugly" bandwagon. It will be interesting to see what they will say in the next few years when used Acuras are selling way better than their so called better looking cars.
