Ac not blowing cold air
Ac not blowing cold air
I live in Las Vegas and it’s starting to warm up over here. Last year I noticed my ac wasn’t blowing very cold I’m not sure if this could be a simple fix or if it could be possibly something else. I’m about to replace the blower motor on my mother in laws car and was thinking maybe it could be something more then just low refrigerant level. Any help is appreciated.

Same thing happened to me. My issue was a defective a/c compressor relay Does your a/c compressor clutch engage? If not try removing the cover where relays are (near the back of the engine if I remember). Remove the cover and locate the a/c relay, Don't laugh but start your car and tap the relay. Tapping may "unstick" the relay. If you hear your compressor engage it's the relay. It's a common part and the autopart store. I tapped mine and you could hear the compressor engage. One YouTube vid suggests to swap the headlight relay with the a/c for testing.

check freon level and go from there. I had to have an A/C Rebuild with full system replacement as the compressor went bad many years ago and put metal in the system. More recently the Denso clutch on the A/C compressor failed so I decided to have a shop replace the compressor. According to both shops I took it to the A/C clutch melted.
