4g TL type-s or 2g tsx type-s?

Hey guys i am not sure if this is a repost but i am a 2g Rl member and was thinking over the weekend, since Acura has bridged the gap with the 4g to the RL, it leaves room for a new sportier model..being that so far the fastest 1/4 mile time was done with Motortrend at the steering wheel at about 14.7 for the TL SH-AWD i believe and the 3g TL-s were doing the quarter mile at around 14.1. So i'm wondering whether Acura has any intentions of bringing a TL-S SH-AWD with a 3.7L with direct injection and a 6-speed slushbox with around 350hp and 315 lb/ft or a Tsx type-S with a 2.3L direct injection turbo 4. I mean honestly as great as Acura's vehicle lineup for 2009 is, it is definitely missing a "true" sport sedan/coupe in it's stable..i would say something to slot in between the Tsx and TL..all these are imo's and was wondering what's everyone take on it...

As much as I love my TLS, it really isn't a "true" sports car; more along the lines of a sports sedan. If you're looking for Acura to release a sports car, then you would have to wait until they decide the make it RWD and get w/ the times. I have heard of a TL SH-AWD coming in a manual in a few years. I don't think it'll be 350hp though; probably 330hp or something in that category. Hopefully I'm wrong and they come out with a RWD twin turbo TLS coupe pushing 400hp/400 lbs torque. I guy can dream can't he?

I am hopeful that they will bring a 4G TL-S with ~340 - 350 HP to the table in 2011 or 2012.

A 6MT next year is a promosing step.

A TL-S with a DSG would be a dream come true, but I'd be happy if it was optioned as a 6AT & 6MT.

One of the problems is so far no mags have been able to launch the new 4G TL Sh-AWD properly. They are unaware of that fact that when you brake-torque, the gearbox shifts into 2nd gear automatically, creating this delay. With this said, no, the 4g TL isn't as fast as the 3G TL-S 6MT, or even the 3G TL 6MT in a straight line. It's about the same as the 3G TL-S 5AT. However, a 6MT model is coming next year. As usual, it's about 100lbs lighter and I would expect it to be as fast as a 3G TL-S 6MT. Of course then, there's room for a 4G TL-S, but I don't think it will happen soon.

yeah, if it will be happen at all... a 3.7, Infiniti learn, is capable of 325-335 hp.
I don't see any reason why Acura has to wait an year for launching a 6MT TL.
No hope for a Type-s.

Well afterall it's their first application of 6MT with the SH-AWD system right. So I guess that took a bit more time that they thought? Besides, even though we won't see the 6MT until next year in fall, it doesn't mean it takes them one whole year to get it ready. May be it's ready by now, but they probably don't want to launch a 2009.5 model, or they want free ad. By free ad, I mean that the car will get attention from the media again because of the new gearbox choice.
