hmm..I don't think the BMW 550i have cooled seats either...at least I can't find that option when I'm at their website, they have heated seats though. But interestingly you need to pay extra for them, on top of the $60k MSRP price.

The only things that would be unrealistic to expect would be RWD, V8, upgraded leather, and folding rear seats (because the vehicle is not designed with that in mind). Everything else is very doable and does not change the vehicle at all.

What Are The Biggest Ommissions On The 4G TL?

I can only think of a few. Maybe a 6 or 7 speed auto tranny, electrically adjustible tilt and telescope steering wheel and keyless entry.

Anything else you guys think Acura could improve on the new car (ther than the nose....lol)?

My wish list:

-ventilated seats (the RL has it, why not the TL?)
-7 sp. tranny
-dual clutch tranny
-standard parking sensors to go along with back-up camera
-massage seats
-a turbo V6 motor good for 350-400hp

WOW!!!

Sounds like a GT-R to me!

I have ventillated seats in my ES350 and I can assure you that they're essentially worthless. Unless they can be configured to blow air conditioned air they do absolutely nothing on a hot, summer's day.

Agree about the backup sensors, although the grid lines on the backup camera (the clarity of the camera is infinitely better than the one on my ES, BTW) look like they do a pretty good job of letting you know where you are relative to surrounding vehicles/obstructions.

We kinda did this already but it's been a while, and things have changed.

- better rims options for FWD and AWD, they all say Honda Accord to me.
- HFL voice command like the 3G did, not clumsy dialing on Nav
- better paint finish on the CBP
- mid-EQ adjustments for the ELS sound system with a better sub
- ability to play DVD's in the Nav without hacking it
- windows leave streak when sunken into the door, wet or not!
- fold down split back seats

Power Tilt, Telescoping & Heated Steering Wheel
Further Telescoping Distance than Current Steering Wheel
Gauge Pod Tied to Steering Column, Similar to Infinity G35/G37
Ventilated Seats
Woodgrain Trim Option Package
Improved Voice Activated Cell Phone Dialing
60/40 Split Folddown Rear Seat Back
Panoramic Sunroof (the current sunroof is tiny)
Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers
Steering Linked and Distance Sensing Headlamps, Similar to BMW

The only other things that might be worthwhile options would include a tranquilizer dart theft deterent system, remote targeting anti-tank missles, radar-absorbing stealth Grigio Metallic paint, Umber Leather covered Ejector seats and rear camera-aiming 12.5mm machine guns.

A keg-r-ator would also be nice but not politically correct.

1) Cooled front seats. Might sound trivial, but a true blessing on a warm or hot day. The RL's have this, as does a friend's 2008 Cadillac CTS. I love this feature. Love it. Listening, Acura?

2) Wood trim. The aluminum-plastic thing is ok if you like aluminum-plastic.

3) Manual. I know it's coming.

4) 7 spd AT. Maybe I don't want a manual.

This about says it for me. But won't it piss you off after we have purchased an '09 TL and all of this stuff will be on the 2010 model!!!?

However I agree with the rest of the list (not that I dont agree with the CD I just dont think it will happen).
Maybe I'm missing something - since CDs get saved to the hard drive, why would someone still need the six CD changer? The hard drive supposidly can save music from 100s of CDs.

I drove a 535i with cooled seats I did notice the a/c blower in the car was not quiet. - not like my 3G and 4G at low fan speeds

going the way of the cassette player from the 3G - although I would like it so I wouldn't have to switch out DVD-A discs - only real reason now for a cd changer

Sorry...

...but all of the suggested changes are insufficient to get me into a 4G TL.

I saw my second 4G TL today parked in the Vernon Hills parking lot.

Epic. Fail.

That said, the new BMW 5 appears to be a winner – head and shoulders above the current 5.

I would add a heated steering wheel for the Canada and auto folding mirrors when you switch off the engine.

Post Active Torque Transfer System

It would be nice if the base model got Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS) from the Prelude Type SH ... renamed of course to SH-FWD. This would give it a bit of an edge over Hondas & other FWD vehicles.
Honda fits Prelude SH models with its Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS), a hardware unit that can send as much as 80-percent of the engine's torque to the lest front wheel, which can spin as much as 15-percent faster than the other side. It's a seamless system that is virtually invisible to the driver unless the car is being powered hard through a turn.
A hybrid/diesel would be nice but I do not have my hopes up.

Agree with this, what is the point of the ELS DVD-A capability when I have to keep swapping them out. Either RIP DVD-A to HSS or give me changer, Genesis can do HDD NAV and still offer 6 disc change!

2010 TL wishes..

1. get rid of that damn ugly grill and the plastic gray thing in the back
2. make the fender wheel well smaller, so the wheels wont look so tiny
3. screw everything on firmly, so it wont rattle.
4. RWD.
5. supercharger / direct injection

agree with 1 and 2...Hondas usually don't have any problems about 3...i'd take sh-awd over 4...and 5...the SH-AWD model's power is competitive with cars in its category...335i, CTS...

Cornelius, you are pretty clearly a huge 4G TL hater. From your numerous other posts it's pretty clear you like nothing whatsoever about the 4G TL. So why do you post a "wish list" about a car you so clearly despise?

Here's what I mean (from another thread....your post):
>>>I test drove the SH-AWD, and there was just a bunch of sports features in a boring car. Im not saying the FWD is any better, but they both feel like tractors to me. I agree that the handling of SH-AWD is excellent, but I think it would be more appropriate for a MT turbocharged 2.4L TSX or a supercharged MT TL. It would be great if those
two imaginary cars were RWD, but I dont think Honda has the technology to make
it cost effective.
The TL has good interior at a cheap price (minus the annoying rattling), but I would
choose the Genesis if I wasnt going to get the performance anyways.

If I was going for performance, I would go for 335i or G37. Both will run circles around
the 4G TL.<<<

The more I drive it, the more I hate it. I really liked my 3G, but I cant say the same about the 4G. If that wish list gets fulfilled, I will trade my car in a heartbeat. Im thinking of the RJ grill but if its too expensive Im just going to trade in my car. Ive
thought about lowering the car and getting rims, but I dont think lowering such a huge
ride is a good idea.

Here's a couple things I like about the 4G TL:
8 in. screen
push button start
HIDs
side view of the car (minus the huge wheel well)
WDP is my favorite car color
nicest sales and service reps

Wishes 2 through 5 have about a 0.0001% chance of coming true. No company is going to change from a FWD to RWD platform during a single model generation, and Honda will never add a supercharger to any commercial vehicle. Also, reducing the wheel well size would require changes to a number of body components, which would not be a financially responsible change one year after introduction of the 4G. The only wish that is realistic is #1; I hope that Acura reduces the size of the plenum to be sized more proportionately with the rest of the front, such as with the TSX. However, I doubt that such a change will occur before 2011.

About the only thing on this list that may happen is that 18 inch wheels may become standard thus making the wells looked filled in properly. I doubt Acura is dumping the power penum this soon and they have already made the interior less squeaky compared to the 3G and the last 2 well .. who is he kidding..

It sounds like you are not enjoying the car and the more you test drive it the more you hate it.

So why in your signature does it show that you have a 2009 WDP TL with Tech? Why would you buy the 4G TL then?

I like the 4G TL alot. I agree with the wheel wells being a little big. They even make the stock 18s on the SH-AWD look a little tinnier.

***********************

Point 3. Why wouldn't they screw everything on tightly to begin with?

I hate rattles too.
***********************

Point 4 regarding RWD will never happen for the 4G TL. Too big of a design change even for a mid model refresh. Maybe the 5G.

*********************

Point 5. One of Honda's philosophies regarding engines is that they are fuel efficient without compromising too much performance.

There's a 0% chance a super charged engine will find its way into a 4G TL.

Did you even test-drive the 4G before you bought it? From the way you talk about the car, it sounds like you got it from some internet site or something.

It amazes me how some people buy a car, then complain about how it looks and drives.......what the heck is that?!
