I saw a 2013 TL in Obsidian Blue Pearl (or Fathom Blue Pearl in the US, I guess?) at the dealership today - it looked pretty sharp! What a very nice colour. I saw that in an indoor area and would love to see it under natural light though.

Anyway, why would they give the same colour different names in Canada and the States? How weird is that!?

 

Not the first time Honda designates different names in Canada vs US. S2k's US Laguna Blue Pearl was Canada's Bermuda Blue Pearl.

 

I know it's not the first time. In fact, most recently, the 2nd generation RDX has "Amber Brownstone" in the US but "Urban Titanium" in Canada.

My question was really "WHY"?

For the 2012 TL,

Alabaster Silver Metallic (Canada) = Silver Moon (US).

This seems to be an increasingly common practice for Honda/Acura these days.

Only Honda knows why !

 

It's nice to see Acura add a new - somewhat exciting color to the TL lineup.

Now is it going to be limited to certain TL's? Hope not.

 

Someone should post a picture if they get one, because the picture they show on Acura's website is very fake looking, I want to see it in natural light!

 

The new color is available on all 2013 TL models except the AWD base and the AWD 6MT trims.

The 6MT is a low demand trim, so it shouldn't come as a surprise in terms of the limited factory color choice available for it.

Obsidian Blue Pearl is a color option on the 2013 Accord, too. Is it common for them to share color options? I'm not a huge fan of this type of blue, but I do love darker blues. BMW does those well from what I recall.

 

I saw one at the dealership yesterday. It looks good but it has a touch too much purple for my taste.
