It seems like no one has had an issue with their keyless remotes in a 2012 TL because nothing shows up in my searches

I just recently joined the TL family (2012 White TL-Tech). I did not try out the second remote for the car at the dealership when I purchased the car. I had to use it yesterday and noticed that on the back this remote also says Driver 1 (Im sure thats not a big deal). The problem is that I cant lock/unlock the car with this remote or pop the truck. The car also does not recognize the remote to start the engine. Apparently, there are no instructions online on how to program the remotes in a 2012 TL. Can someone help?

 

since your second remote also says Driver1..my first thought is that possibly the dealer gave you the wrong key,possibly it belongs to another car that was on the lot?

 

Thanks Grez007, I will try to give the dealership a call today and see if they can help. Its a certified pre-owned car so im hoping this doesnt cost me any $$ (fingers crossed) :P

 

I don't think the Honda keyless system can be programmed with two "Driver 1" keys.

 

Just called the dealership. They asked me to bring the car in and they'll take a look at it. I'll post back when I know what the problem was.
