2012 TL AWD Tech Or 2012 Cadillac CTS performance with technology pack.

I went to Cadillac dealership to check out the CTS with performance package and Technology Package 3.6L AWD 318hp and 275 torque
I got there the salesman took me to test drive .
I like how it drives and it has room inside, feels very luxury inside.
it comes with few more features then the TL AWD Tech.
but i never owned Cadillac before
I also got the price close to what i was getting for TL Awd tech and they will take my 2 remaining payments and be in the same payment where i am looking to be.

What do you guys think of CTS?

I rented a CTS for a week on a business trip. Overall I really liked the car, although some things my G did better. I don't know if you need AWD or not.

You may want to check CR for reliability ratings.

After owning hondas and acuras i doubt i would own any american car again. Trucks on the other hand ill always own chevy. The styling of the cts is aggressive - just too much shiny chrome for me.

I considered both. Stayed with the TL. And, having a rental CTS in WV last summer that, thanks to airlines being airlines, we ended up driving back to NY instead of flying, my decision was ratified.

I've owned several Cadillacs, the last being a '98 STS that I liked a lot. There was no comparison with Acura reliability, though. Each of my Cadillacs had a variety of issues, mostly minor, but requiring regular visits to the dealer. My Acuras have been mostly problem-free, except for my first (2003 TL-S) which had to be bought back by Acura due to the defective transmission and my current 2012 TL-AWD Advance, which has lousy A/C compared to my several prior TLs.

I much preferred the performance of my TL to the CTS, including the loaded AWD version I test drove. The interior of the CTS is quite nice. The electronics and Navi, however, do not compare to Acura. And the CTS bluetooth system is an absolute joke. That by itself was virtually a dealbreaker.

I'm happy with my decision. The CTS is a nice looking car, but the shortcomings of some features, the driving experience and my concerns about reliability made the choice for me.

I'll certainly keep looking at Cadillac products in the future, but in their current iterations, my vote would be for the TL.

I've actually opted for a CTS.....but V though. Until I saw the gas mileage and the price. I did went for a test drive on both the regular and the V. Suspension on the regular CTS is very firm and not much body roll. Then I jump onto the V and it is totally a different car. Stiffer suspension. Near or almost no body roll. And I do love the set up of the dash and the 2 tone seat. But ya......after seeing the prices, I just went back and got my 12 TL instead. But I do say, these Caddy are not what it used to be.

I drove the CTS and liked but in the end the TL was more affordable for me. I would definetley make sure to get the 3.6 V6 and not the smaller engine. Take both for a thorough drive crunch the numbers and go with whatever you like best.

I think it's a great car. I was looking at it and the MSRP was like $51,065. The TL was at around 45. The TL is a more technologically advanced vehicle in my opinion with the hard drive, better nav system, bluetooth ipod integration etc. I also feel the TL handled better as it seemed more nimble. I have owened a Caddy in the past and are good cars. I prefer the TL this time around

The residual value on a CTS is typically lower than that on the TL, which might make for a higher lease payment, all other factors being equal.

I also considered the CTS, but went with the Acura based on freinds experience with reliability problems. Too bad because the CTS-V is a beast!!!!

I like the looks of the CTS and the Vs are really awesome. I'd be concerned about reliability (their ratings are very poor) and, correspondingly, depreciation.

I have owned all 3. A 2007 CTS Luxury, a 2009 CTS-V and now a 2012 TL SH AWD Advance. They are all nice cars but the TL is trhe most refined of the bunch. The CTS Luxury had a very poor quality interior and was always in for service. The 2009 CTS-V was all raw power,,,probably the fastest car that I have ever driven, However below 40 degrees it is useless...no traction at all. Those Michelin Pilot Sports are pure Summer tires. At best it is a 3 season car. The TL is the best of both worlds...great power, refined interior and great resudual value.

I have always admired the updated styling of the CTS over the last several years. If the coupe had been around a couple of years ago when I finally gave into my wife and got rid of my Corvette, I would have gone for it in a heartbeat. I was driving alongside a CTS Coupe today and it really looked outstanding. I would probably opt though to tone down the grill--I have to imagine that someone has come out with a black chrome replacement that would look pretty sharp.

The CTS is the only sport sedan other than the TL that really stand out in styling compared to the competitors.

I like it a lot both inside and outside...the chassis seems to be first class...still I do not trust an American made vehicle...is too soon.....I may consider it 6-10 years down the road if long term reliability of the new generation is really improved....

I have a friend who got a used [3 years old] cts from a family member in the business and saved a lot of money. I had to apologize to him because the cts is a POS in his experience.

I love the exteriors of the CTS models... and they're packed with some great features... the GM interior/trim pieces kill me, though. When I test drove an 07 CTS-V, I loved it. The interior styling totally killed the car for me, though. Too much cheap looking plastic.
