2012 TL awd changing oil not at dealership?

I have a 2012 TL awd and I'm like 50 km past the oil change service. I booked an appointment but the earliest was Tuesday. Since is a 2012 so there really isn't any current warrenty on the car can I just take it into to a place like jiffy lube or something for an oil change?

You always have the option to take it anywhere you want since day 1?

The car is fine going to Jiffy Lube, warrantied or not. And 50km is nothing to sweat, not recommending it, but some go 2-3k miles past their oil change interval.

As people here are saying, you could take it anywhere you want. I would advise against taking it to a place like Jiffy Lube though. I would either take it to a trusted mechanic or do it yourself.

Dont!

Please do not take that nice vehicle to jiffy lube. The next thing you know, your oil pan screw threads are stripped the pieces (happened to me)

I used to take my car there and will never do it again now that I have more auto wisdom. Not only did these techs have apparently little experience, they try to upsell you on everything. "This could cause you car to break down if you dont do this today". You could easily rack up a $400.00 bill. Then there is the dirty airfilter trick or wanting to change your transmission fluid(that you just had changed) because its worn or dirty...

Read the consumer reports dont just take my word for it.

Youd have better luck at firestone or something.

I would try to go to a good mechanic too. The price at dealership is pretty competitive. Go full Synthetic instead of Synthetic blend.

Never go to JiffyLube.

Change it yourself and learn about the car some. That said, the dealership is typically expensive for maintenance, find a Honda/Acura shop around you that's reputable and use them.
