2012 TL (Advance) - hardwire dashcam - fuse tap issues
I just finished hard wiring my dash cam. I wanted my dashcam to turn on when the car is turned on. I had read a post here where someone had used fuse #17 on Interior fuse box (passenger’s side) and had mentioned that it turns on with the car. However, for me it is always on. I tried tapping into fuse #16 which is for Console ACC socket. The console ACC socket turns on with the car but my dashcam is still always on. I am totally lost here. Why is my dashcam staying on even when car is turned off and ACC socket is off? I must be doing something wrong but figure it out. If anyone can help, I really appreciate it.
This is the kit I am using for hard wiring.

I am sorry but that doesn't make any sense to me. Fuse connects two ends of a fuse slot to make a continuous circuit. Let's say if current flows from fuse slot A to fuse slot B. If A is hot, B would be hot as long as fuse is not blown, right?

The problem with the rear view mirror is that it turns off when you put your car in reverse. I used it very briefly and changed it to a fuse tap instead after discovering the power shut off when you reverse.

One side of fuse can not be hot and the other side not hot unless blown fuse. With car turned off the power side of the fuse turns to ground most of the time but don’t use as ground or you will have issues when key it turned on. Just out of curiosity does your dash cam have a battery in it?

Thanks. I guess I'll have to do that. I was hoping to find a switched fuse on passenger side fuse box as I had already routed the cable on that side.

I think I know the reason why the fuse (#16 on passenger side fuse box) is always hot but the Console ACC socket is hot only when car is turned on. I looked at the circuit diagram and there is a relay in circuit to Console ACC socket which probably is controlling current to the socket.

don't mean to bump an old thread but did you figure this out or did you rerun your wire to the driver side and tapped into fuse slot #18 suggested by VanyDotK? I'm running into the same issue as you. I've tried slot #16 and #19. My radar still stays on. I've flipped the fuses and still the same results. My car is off, the power seats don't turn on with slot #19 and my tablet isn't charging on #16 but my radar remains on no matter which fuse slot I use.
