2012 CPB SHAWD/Advance is in da house!

Well… my CBP/Umber SHAWD/Advance is FINALLY in the house.

I made the monumental mistake of passing on the ’09 TL because of the beak and buying a Lincoln MKS…. which we quickly started to call the Lincoln POS. The lease deal at the time was better, much better, than the TL and the car was loaded with luxury features. I knew it wasn’t up to what I’ve come to expect from my cars but I thought I could live with anything for 3 years….WRONG! After the honeymoon period was over I realized that the car really handled like s%#t, the transmission was a world class slush box, the visibility was awful, the AWD PTU leaked on the exhaust pipe, it had a million rattles, the sunroof weather striping fell out and speed sensing windshield wipers had a mind of their own - just to name a few problems. I have to admit though, that the SYNC system worked very well and the voice command technology was actually better than Acura’s.

I will never deal with Ford Credit again. I bought the car when I lived in a state that had property tax on motor vehicles. Ford said that the property tax was built into my monthly payment and they paid the taxes when due. When I moved to a state without MV property tax they refused to lower my monthly lease payment. In my estimation, that was outright theft. When my Acura dealer attempted to buy the MKS/POS, Ford Credit would not allow it. They required me to return it and buy it at a Lincoln dealer….. just more BS from Ford to try to get me to buy another one of their products. To add insult to injury they would not release the car to me until I agreed to a $159 safety inspection… Thieves!!! This was the first time I dealt with Ford Credit and it will be the last. NEVER AGAIN!!! … and I’d strongly encourage all of you to avoid Ford Credit at all cost.

Needless to say, getting the new TL in the house was complicated but my dealer (Antonino Acura in Groton,CT) could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond to get this deal done with the least amount of hassle possible. I could not be happier with this car. I have owned Acuras since 1993 and they just keep getting better. This is clearly the best I’ve driven. The 6-speed is a jewel. I’ve owned MB’s and Audi’s but Acuras just fit me. Those premium marquees have nothing on the quality and satisfying driving experience I get from these cars. It’s just great to have a garage full of Acuras and an S2000 (which, IMHO, should have been an Acura) again.

So… before you say it…… here you go.

Congrats!!! My issue with Lincoln is that you can get basically the same car with the same features in a ford at a lower price. Same body and sheet metal aside from the front and rear bumpers.

Enjoy your new TL!

Exactly right! The MKS is nothing but a dressed up Taurus. The quintessential definition of "lipstick on a pig".

Not everything but what's left is a great car. You can get everything that's in the Lincoln in the Taurus and but whats left is another piece of crap

By the way, I should clarify that my MKS/POS was a 2009. The new Taurus may be a better car but in 2009 is was a heap.

What a beauty! If I had the guts, I would have gone with just this very combination - CBP/umber as it is truly very sharp indeed! However, I just could not keep up with the maintenance of CBP, so I went with Graphite instead.... but I really miss the umber interior as it is the best interior colour, IMHO! Congrats on this beautiful car!!!

Great looking ride Brother Acura! You will not regret your decision. Like you, I also chickened out of the CBP/umber combo because of the high maintenance. So I got the graphite/ebony instead. Black projects power and elegance when clean.

If Acura had offered Graphite with Umber I would have picked that combo. My Gregio MDX is very easy to maintain.

Hey man congrates. I am in the road of either buying a 2011 or leasing a 2012. 2011 in Sexy Silver or 2012 in Grey.

What do your numbers look like? I am in NY and if you got an awesome deal maybe they can work with me too.

You are absolutely right on there - Graphite + umber would have been a KILLER combo!!!

Now instead I can just admire your CLEAN BLACK TL online!!! :-) (if I had a black TL, I swear it would NEVER be this clean!!!)
