2010 over 2011?

As I read about TLs in various places on the web, it seems like everyone is buying 2010s not 2011s.

Is this just because of the price advantage? It just seems odd that every discussion is about a 2010 purchase.

2010 models have great incentives now, 2011 models have no incentives. The cars are basically identical.

As already state, the cars are basically the same, but may have a few minor component changes plus some manufacturing things may have been tweaked to build a better car. We hear of folks having minor issues and each year those usually get corrected with LATE production or next years model. However, is all of this worth the fact that you can save $5K plus on a TL-SH-AWD Tech.... Probably not...
However you may find limited availability on the most popular COLORS in your particular area.. If saving $5K is not that big of a deal for you, and you want the pick of the litter with color, I would definitely go for the 2011, and I would think you could still save at least $2-3K.. After all the economy is still struggling.. Good luck!

The 2011 is basically unchanged so you will probably get a better deal on a 2010 as long as your not picky about the colors available.

My dealer confirmed that they are identical. Glad I asked!

I saved 6k+ on a 2010 FWD/Tech. A year-newer car couldn't make up for the difference in price and because I lease anyway the trade-in value is negligable. I'd go for the 2010 if you can find the right color combination but as posted earlier, you need to hurry because supplies are dwindling!

I bought a 2011 over a 2010. It was true that I could get a much better deal on the 2010 the an 11, but opted for the 11. For the last several years, I've leased my cars and I've had pretty good luck selling them myself at lease end and making a little something on them. As an aside, I sold my 2001 CL at its lease end and made almost $2000. That can't be said of my 2006 Toyota Solara SLE convertible which replaced my CL. No one wants Toyotas right now! That's why I came back to Acura. Anyway, I wanted a car not already a model year old. That's why I went with the 2011.

Congrats on the purchase!

I just bought a 2011 (SH-AWD, Tech) over a 2010 simply because the color combo I wanted was nowhere to be found within 6 states. The car was $38,1xx plus tax, tags and $100 dealer proc fee. I would have saved about $2500 additional had I gone w/ a remaining 2010.

In the end, I feel the Acura product is worth the money paid and I got the EXACT car (and color) I was after.

Welcome to the group, great price! If you could go into your Navigation setup and see what version of Software they loaded into your 2011, many of us would appreciate it a lot! Thanks!

That price is crazy. I haven't seen an offer on that car under 41.

Is it some crazy purple/green combo?

Or you could wait the rumored 5 months or so and save on the 2011's when the refreshed 2012's come out. lol. Of course I don't know how many 2011's they'll make, so no telling what the incentives will be like.

As others have said, and has been stated in numerous other threads, there's basically no difference between the 2010 and 2011. If you believe the early-release 2012 rumors, the 2011 is almost like a stop-gap/bastard-child model year.

Get what you like and enjoy it!

That seems like a pretty damn good price for a 2011. Most people getting the best deals on the 2010 SH-AWD/Tech are getting it for $36,500-$37,000, I think. Maybe I'm mistaken...

Not sure if I got to the right screen or not but here's what I found:

Database = 7.90
Software = 2.00

Is this it?

Ha - The car is Crystal Black Pearl w/ Umber interior. Closest Virginia dealer (who didn't even have the car in yet) quoted $40-41K for the car, once it arrived.

Hit up a dealer in MD, about an hour away, who had (2) 2011 SH-AWD Tech's in black/umber and he tossed out the lowball price. I drove there the next day and scooped it up.

Yep, that's it. Seems the 2011 cars have the updated maps. I think the current update version is 2.00.7.90

Yes, it looks like you have the new data base.. OK, now that I know this I will head to my dealer, find a 2011, have them fire up the navigation and see if three restaurants that are missing in my Data base show up. And also look for 3 new roads in the San Diego area. If they have all these things, then the update is for real and I will go get it!
