2012 MSRP(Canadian Prices)
FWD(TECH) 39,990
AWD(TECH) 43,990

Shit I don't know...this is confusing.
I'm in Canada, and i don' t understand how can they offer you 30K for your 2009 base TL. I have a 2009 g37X (AWD) with 67000 km (46 000$ plus taxes value), 30 months and they offer me 21 000. Of course i didn't accept. So it's sounds to be good.

OmAy2006, if you really like the 2012 TL and you've the $, go for it and enjoy life.

Acura Canada is offering some very good deals on all 2012 TL's. It has knocked $3K Cdn off MSRP from the Tech and above trims. It is including a 25-month free maintenance program on all 2012 TL models.

And most importantly, the 2012 TL is an improved version of the 4G TL.

Wow ! Those were the exact words the Audi sales people trying to lurk me into trading in my Gen-C6 A6 some months ago, but I didn't fall for it.

I believe sales personnel from even different auto brands are all attending the same "how to lie in order to win sales" training seminar.

Its a very hard decision...got people saying no don't do it you're wasting $$$, and others saying its a great deal...

There is one major consideration people often missed : satisfaction.

If you really like the new TL and especially enjoy driving this latest-and-greatest beast around, this is satisfaction in life that's well worth the $$$.

The worst thing in life is that you've the $$$, but you're beating yourself in your old car for not buying the new TL every time you see one zooming past you.

It's like using MasterCard's advertising campaign tagline :

Enjoyment/satisfaction in life = "Priceless".

The ALG residual value survey results seem quite valid with Acura ranked above Infiniti.

You must be a sales guy...

You're right about the fact I beat myself about not getting the TECH package originally.

Now i gotta pay the price for that mistake...if i decide

Should have paid that extra $4K for the TECH package...now I gotta pay about $10K more

I was a sucker....But I got a wicked deal...

I just arrived to this party a bit late. Your winter car is a GMC acadia??? Yikes you better trade your 2012 TL in for a SH AWD model or dump the Acadia for an MDX toute de suite. As a former Acadia owner that had their dealer buy it back after 9 mos and 12 service visits I caution you to bail on that donkey at the first sign of trouble. That 3.8 is a ticking time bomb.

definitely grey/gray next time...

My wife and I both got letters, so we must be doubly special

Same story, need older cars on the lot. Not as many people trading in as often, so there's a bit of a shortage. They're thinking it's more likely they'll make a sale if they have a fallback from the $45K new model to a $30K older model.

We took them up on it for my 09 TL SH-AWD to a 12 TL SH-AWD Elite.

By my calculations, I got about $2K more than what I figured the 09 was worth, and got about $4K off the 12, so I'm happy...

Other than a weirdness with the HFL phonebook import, I'm quite happy with the 12 -- definitely smoother.

So far so good...nothing but oil changes...over two years old...Plus we have to represent GM cars for life because my dad worked for GM for like 40yrs! Shit or Good!

My 09 TL had more problems than the Acadia...

Damn things are so cheap in the USA...we get raped here on everything. $1K is dirt cheap compared to the quotes I got.

Black looked so nice when clean...but I got the gray TL this time around.

I guess I should see what the final price was...
So I paid $10K all taxes and fees in...
Plus 25 month financing at 0.25% and free 25 month maintenance.

The 5G TL will probably be in spring 2013 as a 2014 model. I would wait and see. At the worst you will get a great deal on a 4G TL.

Haha i'm in the same boat as far as GM, FIL is a GM sale mgr. But i've gone all Acura after 11 GM vehicles, the acadia put me over the edge.

Very glad to hear about your luck with the Acadia, i've heard you either get a good one or a bad one. We actually love the design and true 7 passenger comfort. Anyway make sure you are over cautious on oil change intervals and if you ever get a check engine light make sure you take it in ASAP even if it turns off. Early indication the timing chain is stretching. I would also be cautious once the warranty is over but that will depend on the history to that point, so far so good for you.

Enjoy your new TL sounds like you got a good deal when factoring in the CDN pricing. I agree with you black looks good when clean but gray looks good all the time.

Did the dealer say anything about the hail damage?

What issues did your 09 have?

Gotta represent GM...they helped put food on the table and roof over our heads growing up.

RE: Hail Damage...The dealer said no big deal...they had someone in shop that they had just hired recently that's an expert at dent removal

RE: 09 TL Problems...problems with front driver side rotor and ass warmers would not turn on sometimes...

Hey u changed your reply...lol

$10K for an up-grade...I thinks so too

I don't care about when the 5G or 6G comes out...I plan of keeping my two new current cars for about 10yrs

I will change cars again when I hit my mid life crisis at 40...lol

I did test drive the AWD...I wasn't feeling the ride quality...I did notice a difference between the FWD and AWD

I figured if I'm going for an up-grade when not go all out...but I decided not too.

Haha... yes, yes I did. I gave you the details of my purchase, not noticing that you already purchased your vehicle.... so I removed all that and left the last line. I didnt want to give you any grief on the amount you paid for your car...

I never even looked at the FWD one. They had quite a lot of them at the dealerships here in my area, but I made up my mind that I am either buying a 2012 TL with AWD or a CPO 2009 528xi... nothing else and certainly not an FWD car.

So how was the FWD different than the AWD? Was the ride different or the handling or was it the engine response?

I paid $10K more. But I look at it about $6K more because the difference between NON TECH and TECH is about $4K.

So I paid $6K for a new 09 TL(NON TECH) for 30 months($200/month)

Not a car expert...but AWD sounded louder(because more HP) and I felt all the bumps on the road(because of AWD)...

I like the smooth floating feel of FWD...

Well that and plus the AWD has a bigger engine too.

That is what I heard and read too, but at the same time I heard that the FWD handling is not that great, not as good as the AWD.

Actually, this morning one of my fellow carpooler told me that my 2012 TL is more comfortable than my previous 2008 TL. So I guess its not that bad, in terms of ride quality.

the 4G tl is def more comfortable than prev gen TL but at cost of size and maneuverability. I know i'm late for this thread but i would have kept the 09 TL. IMO '12 is not much of an upgrade over '09 TL.

I was able to Trade in my base 2010 TL SH-AWD (CBP) with 42,000km on it. I was able to get $37,000 for it. Paid 2K down, and got myself into a 2012 TL SH-AWD 6MT, BWP, and only $25/month on top of my payment for a new 48mos lease. Free Maintenance, and service for 25months, so i figure my $2k down went to service i would have had to pay.

I'm pretty happy, and Acura is dealing aggressively lately. And thank got i got rid of that swirly, scratched up black paint!

Do you have any problem with your black paint. I noticed in the show room that the black is ''flat'' there is no 3D look , like metal flakes that some black have. And i said myself it will be very easy to see any slight swirl.

Black was so hard to keep clean...But looks AMAZING when kept clean.

I had swirls and scratches everywhere...plus I had my gas tank cover replaced because there was paint starting to bubble.

That's why I got the Gray colour this time...less cleaning

Anyone know how long the 25 months free maintenance offer and also the $3000 incentive for the TL will last for?

the free service offer or the incentive? or both?
Are both part of their 25 year anniversary promotion?

I wonder what kind of incentive they will have later, like in the Spring... didn't they have a $4500 incentive last Spring to get rid of the 2011?

Not sure if I missed something. When you say you got a your 2012 for 10k. Does that mean that your 09 trade in was paid for? If so thats awesome. Im going through same situation now. I have an 09 base. I owe $13.5k and I really want a 2012 w/tech. I hate having buyers remorse. Nags at you doesn't it!

It's for the maintenance, the only incentive i'm aware in canada is a 0.25% on 25 months lease.

For the incentive i don't know. But the 2012 model new look, was one reason of this incentive, i think

What i was able to have is 2000$ off and half price for winter tires (800 instead of 1600, installed tax inc)

Thanks. I just check acura.ca to build a TL SH-AWD 6MT and the $3000 incentive doesn't apply anymore for some reason, even though the all other models above base still have the $3000 incentive. I hope Acura didn't just get rid of the incentive for the manual cars... without a $3000 incentive, I will likely not buy the car.

It's a known fact that 6MT TL's are manufactured in very limited numbers. So it doesn't come as a surprise if Acura doesn't apply incentive to the rare 6MT's.

Yes, they do manufacture the 6MT in more limited numbers than the AT but that's because the demand is low. They are rare in that sense but the dealer I went to had two 6MT for testdrive. They probably had more cars available for people to buy. So not rare to a point that there aren't anymore for sale.

People are not going to cross shop between the MT and AT, at least I won't. If they don't have the incentive on the 6MT, I likely will go elsewhere (another brand) for greater value and similar performance/size car that offers a MT.
