Along with the honor goes a contest in which a TL is given away. I'm sure they're giving a FWD model away....would be better if it were the SH-AWD version but beggars can't be choosers.

*puffs up chest with Cleveland pride* Our auto show is top five nationally in attendance. And parking is FREE, unlike in many other major cities.

I'm planning on going tomorrow if possible. I've complained for years that Acura doesn't know how to market. It looks like they are really taking the new TL seriously. This is the first time I've seen Acura court so aggressively.

Although I'm happy for the TL's recognition, I wonder if the main reason for it is because they're a major sponsor for the event?

Its a shame that the owner of an Acura dealership and coincidentally the chairman of the auto show, refers to the 2009 TL as the "sixth generation" ....LAME

Which speaks to the second part of my original post. I think the marketers at Acura are waking up after sleepwalking for a few years....they finally figure that by sponsoring at a major car show, they can get some eyes on the car and butts in the (very comfortable! ) seats, and maybe generate a couple of sales. I'm a bit embarrassed about the owner's slip-up, the dealer is the one I go to..... At least the sales guys at the dealership know what they are selling, and the service department is good, so I keep going back.
