It feels to me that when moving very slow from 1st to 2nd gear in the 2012 automatic that there is a hesitation and then it seem to slam into 2nd gear, but only does this when barely stepping on the gas. Is anyone else have this problem?

 

are you doing this when the car is warmed up? or at a cold start?

Chuck...I also have a 2012 TL Auto with tech package, however, I do not have the problem with the 1st to 2nd gear that you describe. Hope its nothing serious....I assume you will have it checked by the dealership. Has it always been doing this or just started experiencing the problem? The reason I ask is you could always take a new TL for a test drive and see if its common to others. Although I say that I am not having the problem, its always hard to be 100% sure that I know exactly what are the symptoms you are describing.

 

ChuckD, I have a 2012 Elite (the Advance model in US) and I don't seem to have that problem either.

Is yours the 3.5L FWD with Tech?

 

Yes it is a FWD 2012 with tech. It is not bad but it is bothering me, my wife doesn't feel it but i think there is something to it. I think I will test drive a new one and see if I feel it and if I don't ill have to take it in for service. Its not a cold start happens all the time from a very slow start.
