'09 AWD TL delivered yesterday... fun watching everyone

getting whiplash checking the car out!

There aren't very many new TLs on the road here in SoCal, and in just an hour or 2 of driving around, it's been hilarious watching the reactions as people see the gleaming grigio TL gliding by them.

Actually had 1 guy in an Accord follow me for a few miles, weaving in and out of traffic to keep up with me.

Oh yeah, the DVD-Audio sample disk really shows off how INCREDIBLE the sound system is... I'm a borderline audiophile, and I must say this is without a doubt the best stock system I've ever heard.

Not too excited about the initial gas mileage, but having a blast in the 1st 100+ miles. Despite all the concerns people have about all the buttons, the system is actually very easy to learn... after only an hour or 2 in the car, I'm very comfortable working around thru the menus and using most of the features.

The seats in the AWD are among the most comfortable I've ever sat in, 2nd only to the unreal seats in the M5 I sat in last year (but which is more than 2x the price!).

Love the feel/sound of the driver door shutting.

Need to get used to the headlights being so sharply defined between lighted area and non-lighted area... that line your headlights trace ahead of you that's parallel to the ground and moves up & down as the car moves around takes a bit of getting used to... almost finding myself wanting to see "above" the lighted zone!

Cheers & TGIF...

Congrats! I saw a "gleaming" grigio/umber at the dealer the other day and was intrigued by the combo. Please post some photos, especially of the interior. Thanks and enjoy!

Thanks Chris! Seeing that you have the Umber, what color is it? In some pics it reminds me of Camel from the 3G TL and then other times it look very orange/terra cotta ish?

The Umber is orange/terra cotta-ish. I think it's kindof the color of a baseball glove.

Congrats. Umber is a bit too funky for me. I suppose grigio is not too hard to maintain. I think palladium metallic or the light blue requires the least to keep clean.

I love the Grigio. My last car was black, and I spent more on washing/waxing than I did on my lease payments lol. The Grigio hides the dirt reallllllly well. To be honest, I haven't yet gotten a wax since I got it in December. I'm waiting for tomorrow's snow storm to finish, then I'm finally gonna take it for a long awaited wax. But anyway, yeah the Grigio is extremely low maintenance =)

Oh, and congrats on the new ride. The heads will not stop turning for quite awhile yet, so enjoy it. I love when even drivers of faaaaaaaaaar nicer cars (LS460, BMW 650, etc) break their necks looking at my little old Acura. Gotta love it =)

I have had those exact looks too. My favorite one was when a guy in a BMW 5 slowed down beside me on the highway and gave me a thumbs up!

So true. I haven't seen a new TL in over a month, other than the GM from Acura 101 driving the a White FWD on the 101 FWY near Calabasas. I'm in a sea of 3G TL's and I love passin' them. Two months ago I had a Blue 3G following me, actually more like racing through freeway traffic. The funny thing, is that he was just cruising until he saw me pass him, then he had to stay with me, well almost stay with me...LOL.
