08 TL-S owner's review of 09 TL dealer loaner...

I have car ADD
iTrader: (6)
My only real beef between the 3G nav and 4G nav is the touch screen ... sorta
I agree with others, that touch screen got trashed with greasy finger prints. and the Glare on it, FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!
The 4G is awesome, and the knob is very useful... however, when you are entering a phone number or an address, scrolling through the letters/numbers is a bit of a pain in the ass, and i think its more distracting then using the QWERTY touch screen IMO
The 4G is VGA resoultion by the way... so much clearer then the 3G navi

Glitches? Please elaborate.
I thought the navigation was excellent when I was using my 4G's... but there was one instance I was puzzled by. I was exploring some back roads in Clarksville when I came out on the highway again. I hit in my destination for "home" and was going to let the car do its thing, but I noticed it was giving me directions to to east rather than west on an exit before the normal exit I take. For reference, the area we live I KNEW was on the west side of the highway. So I went along with it and took the road for about 5 miles out into the country keeping an eye on the NAV screen that showed a definite "end" to the route it had planned. I knew that wouldn't be my house, but I decided to see what would happen as I got to that spot where the bright blue route stopped. It turned out as I drove up to the spot on the map, the NAV voice and map told me that I had to make a U-turn!!! and then it showed the route going all the way back where I just drove and then to the correct area my house was at!
It was my one and only time I was left scratching my head as to why the NAV system led me 5 miles out of my way to only turn me back around. Every other time it has been flawless. I just wanted to know if this kind of stuff were the glitches you were talking about.

true - but a quick glance should be possible w/ out taking my eyes off the road - that small upper dash display in the 3G was good for that. (only other item I miss from the 3 is the Xenon High beams - I see the ZDX has high and low Xenon)
