07 tl type-s to a 4th tl sh-awd
Has anyone gone from a 3rd gen tl type-s to a 4th gen tl sh-awd? I thinking about it and I'm still on the fence. I got a letter from my local Acura dealer offering pretty good incentives for a 2010. Any regrets?

Made the switch from an 07TLs to a 2010 sh-awd. At first, i didn't want to make the switch because the 07TLs is such a nice car. Few dislikes were the front wheel drive and torque steer on my 07TLs... After couple of test drives on the 2010 SH-AWD i was sold. I have no regrets to date. Just love everything on my SH-AWD (handling, interior, looks etc).
Here are pics of my old ride 07TLs and pics of my new ride 2010TL SH-AWD.

Very nice tl.
I must appologize in advance. I posted this thread without visiting my dealer and taking a test drive. I will do so in the next few days when I have time. I did own a 07 RDX so I miss the sh-awd a lot.
I just wanted to get a feel from past type-s owners first. It's good to know you don't have any regrets.

Both nice cars but once you do the test drive you'll see the difference. The SH-AWD handles so much better...Make sure you leave your wallet at home when you go for the test drive. Many of us in this forum went to the acura dealer just for a test drive and end up purchasing and taking home the 4G.

I went from a 300whp 03 CL Type S 6 speed to the SH-AWD auto. I shopped the 07/08 TL-S 6M and auto while comparing with the then 09 TL. My observations on auto vs auto were that the new TL felt much faster / torquier despite the weight. I was very underwhelmed by the 6 speed 3g, but coming from driving a built J32 powered lighter car, and fresh out of driving a 6 speed G37 saloon, it was probably more related to that.
The 4G ride is quieter, the seats are better, the cabin is big-shouldered-guy friendly, the interior is much more refined. Not having seen the new cross-hatch-honda-has-lost-its-way wagon thing with the acura badge in person yet, the new TL hands down has the best interior of anything they've built - RL owners should be miffed.
I'd suggest if your interest is driving performance, to find a good cloverleaf style on-ramp while test driving the AWD car. Where you would normally ease out of the throttle and stop turning in to the turn, give it a good bit of gas and continue turning in - you'll be pleasantly surprised at the torque maintained, and the lack of that "near tire squealing, riding on the edge" feel of aggressively driving a FWD car, even with a good torsen LSD.

i came from a a 07 type s, and the 4g sh awd is a nicer car in every aspect...i still feel like my type s was faster, but it could be just the way this car is geared too...i never felt like i was in the wrong gear when trying to pass on the highway, but the new car needs to drop two gears to get the pass done the correct way...but i do like it better...

Drifting
Sounds like the same thing that happened to me. I came from the 07 TL-S and when I test drove the 2010 SHAWD I was blown away. It took corners like rails, and NO TORQUE STEER! I have absolutely no regrets on dumping my 3G for the 4G.
