The $7000 4th Gen Acura TL Tech Project!
#241
That sucks that the whole assemblies are discontinued now:-( I went with them because they weren't that much more for the whole assembly($160 each at the time). I got them from a local dealership. They are holding up well still. Good luck with your decision!

Cheers. Appreciate you getting back so quickly. Looks like you got this car at the perfect time and you won by replacing your suspension when you did.
You wouldn't believe what the Acura on Oahu's quoting for a set of four unassembled stock suspension assemblies. $700/corner totalling $2800 installed. They're pretty funny if you ask me.

Car is still going, just shy of 300k now driving daily. Original flex pipe started leaking recently and I picked up a replacement. Pretty decent quality, looks like it will flow a bit better than what it came with , I just hope it fits. I've seen it go between $97.75 and $400 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stainless...-RS/1128693519 It shows the gaskets in the picture, however I didn't receive any gaskets or Bolts/Nuts.
Exhaust shop says $200 labor to replace(1.8hrs for 9 nuts/bolts)
If I do it myself, I'm not really sure what to do about the gaskets, can't seem to find the two that connect to the precats.
I found exhaust sheets that you can cut out yourself, or maybe just go with copper RTV and no gasket?

Hey, thanks for hooking me up with the gasket link! Ended up shooting a message over to Walmart, and they sorted me out with the right ones.

I jacked up the car with the intent of swapping everything out, but once I got on my back and underneath the car I quickly realized that $200 for them to do it suddenly became worth it... So I had the shop swap out the jpipe and throw in a HF 3rd cat. Sounds much better(quiet) now!
Also, while I was under the car the other night I noticed the upper control arm on the drivers side was loose, will be replacing that(already did the passenger side a few years ago). Also noticed the stabilizer bar link on the drivers side was completely separated, so I'll be replacing both sides as well.
I can't believe I've had this car for almost 8 years now! I really haven't had to do much to it all the last few years and am really impressed with how it has held up. Here's to the next 300k :-)

Butt Dyno feels a slight difference, almost like it can breathe a bit better. Prob. a combination of HF 3rd Cat as well.
Just looks better than anything in that price range, similar to the ones I've seen pushed on here before. But, just trying to fix the sound mostly :-) That flex pipe was pretty bad on the original.
The shop tried to intially sell me an OEM y pipe at $600, but on their estimate I noticed they had a part number for a Dorman pipe which I could have purchased for around $300(it had the almost 90degree bend just like stock). So i went looking and this is the only one reasonably priced. T304 Fully Stainless Steel, Dual T.I.G. welded, totally worth it IMO.
Here is a shot after opening the package:

If you have the 3.5 4th Gen TL, this is a no brainer. Now $58 + $20 Shipping https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stainless...-RS/1128693519

Burning Brakes
Do you know what the cell count is on the one you got?
#256
The 3rd Cat listing doesn't exactly say how many cells it has, but other listings of HF Cats from the same brand say 400 cells, so that's my best guess. This HF cat is a bit larger than the stock 3rd cat.
