MDX Order/Availability

Wow, $5000 off sticker off the base Type S? I know people (including myself) bag on it for the relatively high sticker price, but a low $60s street price would make it a great buy IMO. I always thought this car would be a bigger hit if they stripped some of the racy bits off of it (wheels, aero, brakes, etc) and brought the price down to around $62K. Guess the market is doing what the Acura product planners didn't :p.

If no add-ons required then that is a great deal! If you can get Advance at the same discount that would be awesome.

Southern California, Tustin Acura, Metro Acura, and there was one more that sent that e-mail out. I'll post them on here if I get other emails in the coming weeks. I haven't seen one Type S on the roads here.

Except when you actually go to try to buy one in Socal you are hit with the reality that they really are not available and mostly spoken for by the time they leave the factory.

Searching through several Acura dealers, there seem to be plenty in stock

Damn. California is a bit too far for me. I guess I'll just wait as the TLX Type-S is more my speed anyway. Now let's see if they ever release a tune for it.

Maybe..
for some reason 32, either on the lot or currently in transit, within a 250 mile radius of North county San Diego (which include LA and a bit north - ~26m people) just seems like not that many to me. at least Type S Advanced...
Also some of those would already be spoken for. Mine was on their tracker but not really available, I imagine everyones pre-order also shows on the tracker but is not truly available.
Awesome if you can get one of the two they vin list, esp for $5k off.

This dealer has 6 on the lot... maybe they are orders, ,maybe its false advertisement, may they are in transit and used a previous picture.....who knows. From looking at the advertisement email, the VIN's with this discount are for the two Advanced Tiger Pearls

Again, I still haven't seen one on the road. I drive 170 miles daily from Riverside Co. to SD Co. I mostly see A-specs

I did read something at one point that suggested a miscalculation in demand for the base Type S vs Advanced version. Interesting that Apex Blue at DCH has a 00696 vin as thats an older unit that has to have been around since Feb., looks like current vins are in the 4000+ neighborhood. I bet the discounts are on the non-advanced units and the ones that were restricted when they first arrived (demos).

I haven't seen another on the road either, which makes me feel special :-). In reality I've only seen a handful of the 4th gen, but I'm not the poster child for mileage given work from home...

@quanh79 Thanks for the pictures. How do you like the blue interior? I have a ‘22 TLX Type-S (black on black) and am planning to buy a silver MDX Type-S early next year. Torn between the same interior as the sedan or blue like yours. The truck sits outside, so the light exterior is needed here. Haven’t seen the blue interior in person yet.
PS - really didn’t care for the red interior for the TLX (I keep my cars a long time and assume I would get sick of it).

I’m helping my wife’s parents buy an MDX. The dealer initially gave me a December timeframe but they called today and said a customer canceled their order. Same exact color combo and trim. White Tech with Espresso interior. So they will be able to pick it up on Thursday. Got lucky I guess.
Sticker price. Dealer offered them $15,800 for their 2015 Highlander with105k miles and a scratch down the entire right side of the car.
CarMax offered $15k so not a bad deal.
