Questions compared to RDX

My wife has a 2020 RDX Advance and I'm looking at the 2022 MDX Advance. I've got a test drive scheduled this week.

We leave the RDX in Sport IDS mode. It sticks every restart and that's our preferred setting. I do like Sport+ at times but I'm okay with it resetting to Sport at the next startup. So which MDX setting would compare to the RDX's Sport?

Also, I see the MDX does not have active dampers so I assume that means the suspension does not change per setting? Is there any difference in driving feel b/w the MDX A-spec and Advance?

Thanks!

It was documented in another thread that the new MDX IDS settings won't "stick" like it does for your RDX. Since you will be test driving it, you can prove this to yourself.

I believe you are correct that w/o the active dampers, there should be no difference in suspension feel.

AFAIK, the A-Spec and the Advance are mechanically identical so they should drive and feel the same.

The suspension setting affects how the SH-AWD behaves. There was some review where an acura person stated this.
If you want to go into IDS you must presss the 'mode dial' button, it won't default to it in the 2022 MDX.
I assume MDX sport is as close as you'll get to the RDX sport. However the MDX is heavier so it won't feel as great.

You would need to go for the previous gen MDX hybrid or 19/20 MDX Adv for the best combo of room and sporty ride. It is just a serious downgrade in interior looks and features with the 3rd Gen MDX.
