Price increase!

Law of supply and demand. Very little supply. My 2019 MDX's lease is coming up in March. My dealer says I might as well buy it out as there are no new cars to be had. No way I could get a better used car for the buyout.

From what I am reading of the goings on in the auto market, I am glad that I took advantage of the $3k "equity" in my 2019 leased MDX Advance (leased to June 2022), in August 2021. Moreover, Acura kicked in a $1k Loyalty award as a Come On in July. It was that letter I received form my 2019 ACura Dealer that prompted me to inquire about the new 2022. After Tons of YT video reviews with high acclaim, I wenty to see it and drive it. Once I did, Bingo I was Hooked. But as I posted elsewhere in the forum, I am a "Shopper". After getting ridiculous numbers from my original dealer, I went to 2 others in my area. The 3rd Dealer, Curry Acura in Scarsdale NY (Westchester county), gave me the Best Deal. I saw the posted Pics of a Fathom Blue Pearl from another poster on a different Forum, and saw other colors on their lots (White, Black/Purpleish, a Liquid Mettalic [which looked to be the best color for the car BUT hated the mixed Bronze interior] ), I was Hooked to the FBP with the graystone interior. Took that car for another spin, and signed the lease that day. FRC, the dealer paid me about $36,000 for my 2019 with 21K miles on it (well under my lease allocation of 12K miles per year), and about 2 weeks later my car which was Mint, was on their lot for $41,999 (Canyon Bronze Mettalic / Camel [brown]leather interior). I checked their POV about 1 week later - it was gone. I retired in May 2021 , 70 yo , really didn't need a 3 Row SUV, but was accostomed to the space and comfort of it (never had my grandchildren in my 2019). Even though my lease payment was higher, and I did put up another $2500 in Cap cost (which I would I have done in June 2022 ), the current scenarios of stock shortage and MSRP's being Bumped for Inflatioon, I think I did very well and I am enjopying my new MDX Advance immencely.
