Does anyone know if Acura will offer the Entertainment Package on the 2022 MDX.

My wife has a 2019 model year MDX with Advance package and Entertainment Package because we wanted a bench in the second row and did not want Captain's chairs.

I know that the new MDX has a panoramic moon roof, so acura can't do the old style with the flip down screen from the headliner.

But maybe Acura can have screens attached to the back of the front seat head rests for the Entertainment package ?

I checked the online brochure and Fact sheet for the 2022 MDX and there is no mention of an Entertainment package, maybe it got discontinued ??

 

I would be really surprised if Acura offers a rear Ent system because of smartphones and tablets. I don't know if every model has this; but, the MDX is suppose to have mobile hotspot capabilities with AT&T (I think).

 

People still get the entertainment package? Aren't a couple tablets way cheaper and more flexible?

Of course tablets are cheaper and not stuck in vehicle. Some people still like the integrated entertainment systems. I don't think this option is available in the '22. Mr. Gold is on to maybe the reason why. Hotspot capabilities opens up streaming options.

 

Those flipdown screens or screens in the back of chairs had their day in the sun but are no longer required. It was an expensive option to begin with and made irrelevant by current tech.

 

I worked at an Acura dealer in California for over 3 years. I am pretty sure I sold 1 MDX with the entertainment package.

 

I had the Ent system on my 11 MDX Adv and probably used it 2-3 times since purchase in 2014 (mostly just playing with it and showing it off). I had an ipad mini and would tether to my iPhone for pretty much anything I needed entertainment wise on the road, hotel, plane, work, or home. I even connected my Nikon DSLR wirelessly to my iPad to download picture/vids as they were taken to view them (no more DSLR small screen review or waiting to get back to upload on PC). Besides, I can't remember the last time I purchased a music CD or DVD?

 

Its not on the configurator. Looks like us old schoolers miss that feature for these new school tech. I upgraded my iPad 6th gen case so it can be hanging from the headrests for the 2nd row. I have Verizon's Unlimited Data plan, so I can throw my iPad onto my phone's hotspot and watch stuff.

But then, iOS is kinda crappy. I would need to jailbreak mine to copy movies from my PC to it.

 

I use Wondershare Uniconverter to burn netflix DVDs to upload on my ipad Pro in itunes for road trips (no jail break needed).

 

I couldn't care less about Ent package. It's a waste of money. I have dozens of phone, tablets in my home that we use for entertainment.

 

Back in the day I had the entertainment package in my 04 and 06 MDX. It was god for the kids. That said, today I don't see the need for same with i-pads and i-phones etc.
