New here

Hello my names Michelle, i just recently traded in my 2019 acura rdx aspec for the 22 mdx type s in tiger eye pearl. absolutely in love with this car 3 weeks into ownership and its amazing, ive already started adding my little touches to it, but i will be heading out to PRL motorsports in a week to test fit the tlx intercooler and charge pipes and r&d an intake and hopefully few other mods for the mdx. im excited to be apart of it and help them out anyway i can with my mdx. ive done some dragy pulls on the car for fun to see the start point best time i got was 14 flat in the qm and 14.2 being the worst. the build process is going to be fun on this car and im just super excited about it all . Thank you

Congrats on the new ride, as I'm sure it's amazing! I'm interested in the power gains you'll achieve, so I'll be keeping an eye on your thread.

Are the engines in the TLX Type-S and MDX Type-S exactly the same, or are there revisions and differences?

Hello Shelly
They both look great and if they were mine they would have Gorilla "The System" 38643N on both to protect those beautiful wheels. I predict they will be hot items possibly fitting older generations of both vehicles.

I personally have the 38433XL system and the X2 wheel locks on my 17 Accord Touring as I have witnessed my factory wheels on 8th Gen Accords and FWD Acuras. They are extremely popular for older Accords and yours will be for older/current MDX/TLX etc. One thing to truly understand any wheel locks are just to deter the rookie but a pro will just swipe the vehicle if needed as noone has time to remove 20 lugs without the key. Please note the X2 does not fit from the box but an "Acorn to Ball Seat" washer does the trick. My fear of the TLX is that open exposed bumper just waiting for a rock. Installed mesh on my kids 09 with similar opening. Just my two cents!

Future
2022/2023 MDX Type S Advance
Current
2013 TL SH-AWD Advance - Full Tint/Bra, Full Weathertech - Awaiting Big Brake
2017 Accord Touring - Full Tint/Bra, Full Weathertech - Awaiting Big Brake, 3.7L Intake/Manifold installs
2009 Accord EX-L V6 Navi - Full Tint/Bra, Full Weathertech - Kids Car

Welcome, nice seeing you here and thanks for supporting the aftermarket! J30AC may be DOA from the factory, but from what we saw on TLX-S, Acura laid out a good foundation for the aftermarket to build on.
