Lease end option
I have a 24 MDX Type S (original owner) and lease will be up next year. I'm considering keeping it since the mileage is very low. However, the MDX has 2 minor accidents. No major damage and all repairs were done through insurance with OEM parts. Knowing that, I want to hear opinions on whether to keep her or trade her in. Again, if I keep her, because I know its history and because Acura's are reliable.....considering keeping this long term.
I had a similar situation with my TLX. You mention "trading it in." If you leased, then you are just returning it and there is nothing applied to the purchase/lease of a new vehicle. I kept my TLX as the price of new cars is now fiscal suicide. The cap cost is predertermined so you will know what you are paying to own your leased vehicle. If you are leasing again then the old lease will have no impact on what you are paying for a new lease. If you decide to own, you know the history of the vehicle. If you buy preowned, you will NOT know the actual history of the vehicle as Carfax does not tell the entire story. Wifey had to get a new vehicle as she totalled her 17 RDX. Decided on a MDX due to 7 seating considerations. We looked at new and I could not justify paying close to 70K for a vehicle. Settled for a 24 CPO and the cost was much more reasonable.
So that is my 2 cents. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for your response, it is very helpful. You're right, I can just return the lease and walk away, but still needing a car and to your point, prices of cars had gone way up. With your situation sounding similar to my current situation, this is very helpful. Thank you again.
