DARN, the new 2022 MDX is too long!!!!

My 2015 MDX is 194" long, the 2022 is 198.4", Even with a relatively large 2 car garage , the new MDX will not fit.. As my total allowable length is 198".. I could always Cut Open the dry wall and gain another 4", 3.5 for the 2X4 and 1/2" for the dry wall.. I always park the car in the garage along with my wife TSX...
I almost overlooked this point when I ALMOST purchased a very long Honda Mini Van! Now I think it would fit if I wanted to park it at an angle, but that means my wife car must go outside, and I need to get rid of some of my workbench space... Well, before I go this far, I will probably go on a shopping visit of many dealerships to see what else might be on the market! My 2015 MDX only has 79,250 miles on it, less mileage these days now that I am retired.. But like so many of you, I have been waiting to see what the new MDX would be like... Since I would only be interested in a Advance Model, at $60,000.00, or even better a Type "S", Price Unknown, that makes my shopping experience spread out across many other cars... Time Will Tell!!!! OH! My Grandchildren would not be happy that the MDX does not offer a Entertainment Package, I guess in car WiFi and iPads will have to do going forward... :-)

There is always a car ramp to give you a few more inches of space.

I traded in a 2011 Sienna minivan for a Mercedes GL450 and little did I know that the GL450 is actually wider and longer than the minivan!

Luckily I have an oversized garage and both cars fit when I had them. For folks with limited space, I feel your pain!

According to the factory specs, the 3G MDX is 196.2" in length.

The original poster has a 2015. The MDX gained 2+ inches when they restyled the front and rear bumpers for the mid-cycle refresh in 2017.

2001-2006 MDX: 188.7 x 77.0 x 68.7

2007-2013 MDX: 191.6 x 78.5 x 68.2

2014-2016 MDX: 193.6 x 77.2 x 67.6

2017-2020 MDX: 196.2 x 77.7 x 67.4 (MMC refresh)

2022-? MDX: 198.4 x 78.7 x 67.1

The turning radius increase is more of a bummer for me. I’ve owned two first gens and currently drive a 2018 third gen.

2001-2006 MDX - 37.8 ft.

2007-2013 MDX - 37.6 ft.

2014-2016 MDX - 37.6 ft.

2017-2020 MDX - 38.7 ft.

2022-? MDX - 40.5 ft.

Thanks for the update. I didn't realize that the 3G MMC has grown in size.

Red face Width

Luckily I have a deep garage so length is not a problem (thank goodness I sprung for the 4' extension) but that extra 1" of width ...... my 2017 can already be a challenge to park or drive on old narrow streets, so upgrading to the 4th gen is going to be fun ...

Still hoping for some kind of hybrid option or @ least IMA like MB/BMW are doing ...

I sometimes put my 4 bike platform rack on the MDX hitch and it made my MDX too long to close the garage door with the rack in the up position. Sometimes it was too much of a PITA to take off at the end of day after a good ride. I was able to pull out the other car and park the MDX at an angle to close the garage door with rack still on. I was even able to park with the rack down with bikes still on (saved me time in the morning loading the night before).

Is it worth kicking the TSX out and parking at an angle since the MDX is the newer vehicle?

If I can fit my Gladiator in my garage, anything is possible

Truth be told, we're actually redesigning the interior of the garage (storage-wise) to accommodate the 2022 MDX. As laid out, the '22 wouldn't fit on the left where our '18 is now.

#dedication ... ha

Makes me wonder why more car manufacturers don't build in remote front/reverse parking of cars like Hyundai. It's an option that's nice to have when you need it.

I could never figure who or why you would use that Hyundai smart park! You just listed the only time it would make sense to use!!!
Who in their right mind would squeeze their car between two cars at Kmart????
But in my garage would completely make sense!!

Your own garage, or possibly a parking garage where you park close to a pillar/wall.
