2025 mdx type s heater performance

Hi,
I have a new Type S that seems deficient in interior heating, especially the Floor Mode. The heat never gets very hot, even when the heat temp control is set for 80 degrees. Has anyone else had this problem?

While I don't have an MDX, I have a 2023 RDX and I feel the climate system is one of the weakest parts of the car. AC could run colder and heat could get hot faster and get a little hotter. I do find the interior will get hot eventually, but it can't compare to my prior Subaru's or a family member's Volvo.

I also just came from another brand, namely a Genesis GV80 Prestige. You set its heater for 72 degrees and it got you there without fail. With some experimentation and modification on the Acura S, I am now able to extract acceptable heat from the heater. The drivers floor outlet (above the feet), I found to be very small with an apparent baffle, perhaps added to the opening. When in floor mode, the heat is directed to the windshield and floor. The baffle, I believe creates back pressure to allow more flow to the windshield. I took an oscillating tool and removed the baffle area, thereby making the outlet opening double the square inch area. Note: others have done the same w/ positive results. Additionally, I now always use the recirculating mode button until either fogged windows or adequate heat is achieved. I believe, I can now live with it...
