Since Feb 1, 2025 I leased a new 25 A-Spec Advance - having turned in my 22 MDXAdvance at lease end. Notwithstanding that I could have and maybe should have bought the 22, I have the 25 for 2 months now. My issue is that sporadically, after stopping and then restarting the MDX, having left the with the Home screen on and the radio set to a AM station, sometimes when I restart it after making my stop, the InfoT. Suystem switches to AA mode and selects the Streamer station that I used when last in AA mode? Why is it going back into AA mode when not prompted to do that? And, If I selected a destinatiomn in Google Maps of the Home screen, when it goes into AA mode umprompted, my destination pops up in WAZE? I often use WAZE in AA mode being more preferable - easier to read the Navi screen for me. As I noted somewhere else, Not having a SAT Radio Receiver now, is a royal PIA - I need to Stream Sirius via the AA Mode SXM App (which uses the Phone BT connection, no longer direct vis the Receiver with easy peasey channel selection on the screen.

 

I've seen a longstanding bug in all my Android Auto cars (3rd gen MDX, 3rd gen RDX, Kenwood receiver in my RSX) where it autostarts Android Auto and autoplays music, if there is no data reception when you start the car.

I suspect it is an Android Auto bug since all 3 cars are on very different infotainment platforms. Do you notice the bug happening in places where there is weak datasignal?

My guess is that Android Auto ignores the autostart/autoplay music toggles being set off when there is no reception. I've been too lazy to report the bug to the Android Auto support team.

I dont use waze so no idea on your second issue.

 

mvl, the WAZE issue is consistent with the Auto- start up of AA ! To clarify, If I used WAZE for directions to an address, then discontinued it and exited AA, when I restart the MDX after a stop, AA would engage and a WAZE map would appear. If I used Google Maps in the same scenario, then Google Maps would appear with the AA re-engagement. Sorry, sounds convoluted - but that's what happens. Yesterday after following advice from a Poster on another forum suggested to make the AA changes in the AA setup on my Google Phone. I selected "Engage AA if it was used at last start up". I did that , yet, the second time I drove the MDX after making a stop with the Home screen on when I turned it off , Not in AA mode, the AA Mode appeared again. You are right about a Glitch in the AA about Autostart/autoplay facet. How Do I report this Bug to AA support?

THX man... I just filed my Grievance with Google Support / AA mode.

 

It is difficult to say if the Reception is the issue that causes AA to engage when re-starting the MDX. It did the same in my 22 when I had AA engaged prior to shutting it off. I did Turn off that feature on AA on the Phone app to allow the car to determine to engage AA! That did not solve the problem. But You may have a point, because it doesn't always happen. I think your Guess is right! A New AA is supposedly in the works... BTW, the SXM app in AA (the only way to play Sirius/XM now in the 25 MDX w/o a SAT receiver anymore) - SUX.
