Yet another fitment question thread...

After viewing Undying Dreams' first wheel setup, I'm pretty much set on what I will get for my TL-S. I have always wanted the Advan RG-D wheel, and I saw that Undying's old front wheels come in a size in common with the Advans: 18x8.5 +33. His rear wheels were different (+23 I think) but his same stance can be achieved with 10mm spacers and four +33 offset wheels.

Now, here's my issue. I want a function-first setup. I want to cram 255 or 265 sized tires in there. I have seen a few set ups with beefy front tires, but I can't seem to nail down a good sidewall size for 18" wheels.

What sized tires should I be running on a 18x8.5 +33 wheel? My goal is to get the beefiest I can with minimal fender work (I am totally OK with rolling front/rear - just NO PULLING) and having a slightly higher stance and more camber to fit. I want to eventually play with camber settings at the track, but I think -2 at all four corners is a place to start.

I am assuming a 255 will provide the best balance between beef and ease of use. What do you guys think?

I'm running 18x9.5 +22 all around with 245/40/18's and plan to move to a 255/35/18 without TOO much rubbing.
all i will have to do is roll fender and play with camber

DAMN that's a lot of wheel. So in your opinion, 255/35-18's should work on a 8.5" wide wheel just fine as long as I don't mind some camber and a roll.

I also plan on less offset than you have, so there's that too. As much as I enjoy looking at stanced cars on the internet, I need a practical set up that I can take to the track. I live 45 minutes away from NJMP and would love to get my license and thrash my car.

Thanks man!

My first setup with the Forgestar F14's was 18x9 +30 on 235/40/18's.

My new setup is 19x8 +18 on 225/35/19.

I use this a lot:

This shows the fitment pretty well.

I'm all about function.
I just love how a beefy tire on all 4 corners looks.
I'm not into the "stanced" scene.

when i picked up these wheels last week, ppl made fun of me, because usually, the stance scene takes these replicas of my rim and STANCE them out, super hard core.

I'll run these stretched tires till their bald and then upgrade to a 255 tire.

and yes, Ive put a 255 tire on the stock 17's, which were 8 inches wide.

I dont believe you will have a problem at all.

I couldn't really find your specs there were so many pages, LOL! So those are 18x9+30, huh? Damnit. Evasive has the RG-D in 18x9+35 as well.

What would you suggest for a trackable setup? the 8.5 +33's or the 9.0 +35's? Would they both fit/clear the front Brembo? I know that spacers will be my friend. You seem to know a heck of a lot about wheel fitment!

Well since you're wanting to run a fatter tire, I'd suggest using that link to compare the specs of each wheel, it will tell you how much each one will poke or be sunk in.

Personally, I'd rather run the x9 +35...clearing Brembos depends on wheel design too...I have an auto so I didn't have to worry about that.

It also depends on how low you are, I am at 24" fender to ground and I rub on both sets of wheels BUT...I only rub the fender liner, I have had my fenders rolled to avoid rubbing the metal and since you want to run a wider tire, I suggest you do as well.
