Would 235/40/18 work on 18.7.5+45 without rubbing?

I'm planning on getting the Giovanna Corsica, and then sticking 235's on them. From the specs topic, I see that several people have done 225 without any problems, but the few 235 and 245's I see are on higher offsets.

The full specs would be:

18x7.5 wheel, +45 offset
235/40/18 tire
No drop yet, but I'm going to get either the HR OE (.75/.75 f/r) or Comptech's (1.75/1.5 f/r) soon after the wheels.

Why are you choosing 235 over 225

I was asking about 235 because:

1. From the evidence, 225 works just fine, no need to ask.
2. "Wider is better"
3. According to the various calculators, 235/40 ends up being closer to stock diameter than 225/40.

If I can make 235 work without rubbing, and know that in advance, done deal, otherwise I'll probably settle on 225 like everyone else.

I have 19x8's with a +40 offset and 235/35/19's and they don't rub, but I did have to trim some plastic on the inside of the rear fender lips. Its only from the body line inside the circle to the back about 4" and this picture is shown AFTER the mod, it is completely invisible.

I have a 2 inch front and 1.75 rear drop on my car, with 18x7.5 42 offset and got 225/40/18 and it rubs on the fenders not just on the bumper, so be ware, if you go with 235's your car with 45 offset and those 235's might end up sticking out like 3 mm more than my setup, which will definetly cause you to rub even more than me....so I would go with 225...

ThePhoenixForce,

The question is, are you going to lower your car or not? If you are, it may rub but if you are not going to lower your car, it will definitely work with a minor trim.

See my SIG. I have 235-40-18 on +42 offset but I don't have my car lowered and with minor trim on the rear fender, it works fine.
