hehe your TL is almost an exact clone of mine except I have different Works...you even have the sticker in the rear quarter window like I do haha. Of course it would look more aggressive about 2" lower, but it's not worth the worry on NY roads. I'm paranoid about my ride height, even on my 5 mile commute to work. Thanks for sharing the pics!

They are the Firestone Firehawks They came with some great reviews and I figured that I would try them out. Can't beat the price either.

I know, I know... For all of those telling me to drop it... guess what...

I just PM'ed Josh and inquired about a new suspension setup. I'll keep this thread up to date on any events

I was surprised by how much I fell in love with WDP. I always wanted an AM TL... No I am thankful that I ended up in white

Glad to hear you're looking at other suspension options. Don't get me wrong, the car looks GREAT as is, but it will look even better once it gets a little lower

I'm near Syracuse.

What suspension setup are you looking to get? I've gotten my past 2 setups from Josh at Excelerate. Good guy to work with.

I want to get something adjustable... I PM'ed Josh about getting the Tein SS (bc they are on sale for a few bucks cheeper) along with the EDFC. I'll need to get alignment kits as well. If I do change up the suspension I don't want to settle for anything but the best. At least with te EDFC I'll be able to raise the car easier when te winter rolls around and pot holes litter the streets.

The EDFC is used to adjust the dampening, not the ride height. The Tein SS is a nice setup, but I wouldn't call it the best. For what they cost, they should at least come with the upper hardware (top hats). There are other options that offer more height and dampening adjustability. Have you seen this?

Thanks for the suggestion and readig materials. There is just so much out there and it is such a big purchase to make... and I don't want to make the wrong decision. The EDFC will just adjust the stiffness of the ride and the amount te wheel will travel over bumps, correct? And both setups (Tein & XLR8 ISC N1 Coilover) are both fully adjustable?

I will most likely talk to Josh w/in the next few days and try to set something up with him...

Yes, both the SS and ISC setups are fully adjustable, but you can go lower with the ISC (~2.5" vs ~3+") and you have more "clicks" of dampening with the ISC (32 vs 16).

I have the ISC setup and love it so far.

^^^ just went through your progress thread and you car is riding looooow on the ISC coils... I don't think my car will ever be that low. All I really want to do is get rid of the wheel gap... ok, maybe a bit lower them that. I still can't fathom changing the suspension when you have to chip away the ice to plant the jack stands Props to you

Thank you Mr. Rock and thank you Mr. Hard Place

I am now 87% sure that I am going to do something. I am leaning toward the Tein SS & EDFC... I am leaning this way because I do like the idea of being able to control the feel of the ride. When my mother is in the car I can make soften up the ride and when I want to go on a spirited drive I can tighten it up and when I want something in the middle, no problem.

Thank you ebelp for the suggestions I am in the process of asking my buddy who installed my A-spec suspension to help me install the Teins. I just can't fathom paying such high labor rates to have it installed If he can't help me out this time around I may be PM'ing some Azine members to help me out

Maybe down the road I will invest the money, but for now, the A-Spec suspension works

Thanks. If you notice in one of my original posts in my progress thread, I mentioned I didn't want to slam it, I just wanted to get rid of the wheel gap, just like you just said hehe. Thanks to AZ, I was slowly brainwashed into wanting a fully adjustable setup so I could tuck a little tire. At least if you go with the Tein SS, you'll have the option.

Let me know if you have any questions. It's a pretty straightforward install process if you have the right tools. Having an extra set of hands definitely helps too, but it can definitely be done by yourself.

Wheels: 18 X 9.5 +30 all around

Tires: 235/40R-18 FIRESTONE FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL INDY 500 XL

The +20 were way to aggressive for me and the +38 didn't clear the brembos. As for the tires, just a little bit of stretch, but I am happy with that.

Are you only lowered a little?
-Just curious cuz I'm wanting to run a similar setup, 18x9.5 w/ a +35 Offset with 245/40 tire and run no more than 1.5 drop all the way around.
-Do you think this with rub at all??
---Thanks

I'm not a 100% sure but I believe that the +35 will fit with non Brembo brakes. The 245 is only 10 mm wider then my tire and I don't rub. At this point in time I am rolling on A-Spec suspension (which only provides me with a .75 -- 1" drop. I plan on dropping the car approx 1.5" as well when I install my Tein SS soon and will be able to give you a little bit more imput on your situation

I wanted to ask if you ever managed to install the rest of the braces from UR?
I ask you because as far as I know you are the only member that has posted getting them for the TL.
Marcus has spoken highly of them on his TSX and improving handling is essential towards putting down the power when you need it.

I'm getting a set of wheels custom powder coated dark matte bronze somewhat similar to the shade of your beauties and was curious if you have ever waxed them. If so, did it alter the shine/appearance?

I have never waxed them because they have not really been on the car too much. I brought 265 tires and they don't fit I hope to try rolling the fenders on Tuesday. I do love the color and I think that it looks great on WDP. I say that you should go of it

I am lowered on Tein SS right now. I am just trying to figure out the fenders at this point. I hope I can get the 265's to work out. I am going to try to make things fit on Tuesday. Please keep your fingers crossed
