Work emotion cr kai...

I'm thinking about picking up a set of these wheels 18x8.5 for my type-s, what offset should I get? Thanks in advance.

I'm about to get the a-spec suspension, so I guess it will lower the car about an inch. This is a daily driver so I don't want it to be too aggressive, but I was concerned about the wheels having room for the brembos.

I read somewhere on here that by putting the m/t suspension on an a/t it would.

yeah, I did, very nice wheel. Still like the cr kai's the best tho! I think they will give a subtle look.

The A-Spec suspension does not lower the car an inch, no matter which one you get. So don't expect it.

All Cr Kai wheels clear the OEM Brembos. I'm pretty sure they are offered with a +30 and +35 offset, if it were me I would get the +30.

Thanks for the info. Does it make a difference in height if I go with the m/t a-spec over the a/t?

are you sure you want 18s? well, if so... i'd go with the +30 wheel offset.

If you get the M/T A-Spec and put it on an AT, you might get it down to like 7/8" in the front, and around 3/4" in the back.

Biggest size they make for Emotion CR Kai is 18 I believe. If you want something conservative in a 8.5'' width I'd go +30 or +35.

Yeah 18 is the biggest they offer. I'm probly going to go with the m/t a-spec first then wheels. Still debating on the works...I'm looking for something that will improve performance and not be too flashy. i really like the look of the stock type-s wheels and I thought the cr kai's look similar. What do you guys think?

Just to be clear (I'm a newb to the whole offset concept), the higher the positive offset the further out from the center of the car the wheel will be, correct? Also, is there a type-s aspec suspension and base aspec suspension or just one aspec suspension for both models?

Old thread, but its time to revisit this subject I have decided to go with 18x8.5, but am wondering what offset I need on an 8.5in wheel to get a flush look. I would rather have the wheel tuck slightly than stick out of the wheel well. So basically, I'm looking for a flush look but conservatively speaking a slight inset from the wheel well would be ok. Thanks in advance.

edit: will 255's fit on an 8.5in wheel?

^yes 255s will fit on an 8.5

But you want flush.. flush as in rim to fender? or tire to fender..

If you want rim flush with fender 255s are not going to cut it

I like the look of the back wheel here...those are 19's but you get the idea.

235 is what comes stock, I don't want the rim sticking out of the tire

What the hell? You serious man? You just completely contradicted yourself...

You post an example of how you want your wheels to look; the example you give involves significantly stretched tires and negative camber.

THEN, you say that you don't want the wheel to stick out of the tire....??? Do you not see the rear wheels in that picture? You didn't notice how the rim of the wheel is completely poking out of the tire?

If I recall correctly, bforbrian (that's his car you posted) was running a 10.5" wheel in the back with 245 tires. Yes, that is a pretty big tire stretch, but that is what is necessary to get the flush look that you supposedly want.

I suggested you run a 235 tire on an 8.5" wheel. That is not stretching a tire at all. Not in the least bit.

I think you need to figure out exactly what you want.

^ yep u took the word out of my mouth of what i was going to say. i was going to give input but it seem u dont know what u want. there is no way achieving the flush look while being conservative. take your pick!

I do want a flush look and bforbrian's car looks great but I don't want a stretched tire. When I say flush I just don't want the wheels to be tucked away inside the wheel well. What would you think about 255's on a 9.5in wheel? Thanks for the advice

Also, what offset would be good for 9.5in? I would want the same size on front and rear so I can rotate

Looks really good,I like the front grill painted in black, you just need the rear under spoiler and done!!

Maybe next month I'll order a set but I want them with different specs 18X8.5 but 37mm offset instead 30mm.

thanks for the pictures!!

Thanks, I actually covered the grill in gloss black vinyl...no rock chips and completely reversable! Rear lip, j-pipe, exhaust, and suspension are all on my list right now.

What color you gonna get? I would go matt bronze on kbp.

I was originally gonna go 9.5 all around but I decided the weight diff between 8.5 vs 9.5 wasn't worth it. I think 9.5 +20 should fit.
