will someone clear this up for me
7th(2003+) generation honda and 3rd(2004+) acura tl are the same body and call for the same koni shoxs, eibach springs, but my question is can i use any spring made for the honda on the acura even if they dont list the tl as it being able to fit? and also what about shox and coilovers will anything that fits the accord fit the tl? or only certain brands?
thanks

i looked at tein's website and the ss and basic coilovers differ in part numbers from the honda to the acura and the spring rate in the front jumps 160 in the front on the acura? anyone explain this?

ive reseached and researched and come up with, the only thing that part numbers line up with b/n the accord and the acura are: koni, eibach nothing else.
-tein basic, ss, and stechs are different numbers
-H&r has different numbers the hondas are out but not the tl
i guess what im getting at is, will anything that works for the accord work with the tl regardless of part numbers?

However, they didn't account for the heavier weight of the TL and CL over the Accord. H&R Sport springs had a problem in the rear, Tein Basic and SS had spring rates that were too soft for the TL duty, etc.
Architecture-wise, they will bolt up the same between the 7G and the 3G. But they won't be able to compensate for the extra weight and such like it was on the 6G and 2G. Go with the TL-specific application.

if you look around on some sites, you'll see that some companies sell the same product code for the 2 cars. i guess the accord is heavier in the back because it lists the drop as being more severe then in the TL

as you can see here, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEIN-...18403631QQrdZ1
the front is lower on the accord then on the TL. so the Accord is heavier on the front?

i assumed the tl was heavier in the front than the accord only b/c on teins website the spring rate in the front for the accord is 503 on the basics and the tl is a whopping 671, larger spring rate for heavier car is what i assumed, but dont hold me to this im huniting for anwsers

I haven't confirmed this, but I think Accord's springs are longer than TL's. The reasoning is this: some spring manufacturers (like Comptech, Eibach prokit, Tein S Tech) list the same part numbers for the Accord V6 and the TL, but those same springs lower the Accord more than the TL. The only explanation that makes sense to me is the OEM springs of the Accord and the TL are of different length, because the TL is also heavier, front and back than the Accord.
Unfortunately, unless you go with Tein coilovers or some manufacturers like H&R (that hasn't released their springs yet), you'll have to use the same springs as Accord V6.
