Will Pilot A/S 235/45-17's work well on my '04 TL OEM rims?
Why doesn't the Michelin website show this as an exact match? They are listed as 93Y service size, instead of 93W. Does anyone know the difference between 93W and 93Y?
Thanks!

They work great - much better than the stock tires - that's what I have had for 1 1/2 years. Y is a higher speed rating than W for the 93 load rating.

Not necessary. The Michelin has a protective rubber ring, and has a wider sidewall than the BS tires anyway.

W= 168 mph speed rating, Y= 186 MPH
Obviously, both meet the requirements of the TL
I had the stock 235/45 Pilot Sport A/S's and never had any problem with rim damage (maybe I was just lucky). However, when it came time to replace, I went with Pirelli P-zero Nero's based on performance rep and significantly lower price.
