Will this fitment work?
I have 18x8 rims with a 40mm offset.
Tires are 215/45R18.
I had these on my old car and they rubbed ALOT. Shop i got them from were too stubborn to admit their mistake.
Will these rub on a 2007 TL Base?
Thanks

Stock tire size on 18" for a TL would be 235/40/18, wheel would be 18x8 +45, so you shouldn't have any issues that I can tell, as the 215/45/18 would probably come out to be about the same profile even with the taller sidewall.
I'm not authority so others should chime in, but the wheels will definitely work with no problems. You can go as agressive as 18x8.75 +33 or 18x9 +29 for example on a 225/40/18 with absolutely no issues.

Im worried about it rubbing on the wheel well as it did on my mazda 6 when i had more than 2 people in the car or turn fast.
But considering you said a 45mm offset works, which is further out than the 40 i have that shouldn't be a problem correct?

The lower the offset, the further out the wheel is, the higher the offset, the closer the wheel is to the hub ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
So the 40 mm will be further out than the 45 mm
Either way, the stock offset on the TL is 45 to 40, you'll definitely be able to get the 40 mm on there with no issues, especially if you're running stock height.
